Now it's
about access, agility, authenticity and transparency. And by the way, ten years from now, your current leadership playbook will feel ancient. If you're not paying attention. So let's be clear. Every generation inherits leadership with one hand and rewrites it with the other. This struggle isn't bad, it's necessary. Without it,
we stagnate. Without it, leaders become irrelevant. It's in this struggle where the next great idea is born, where the next cultural shift gets shaped, and where the next generation watches how we handle it all because they're next. So what's this struggle actually look like in the real world Today? It's a gen Z employee asking why the company doesn't take a stand on social issues, while a Gen X
leader says that's not the company's job. It's a leader trying to balance remote work preferences while still building team culture and accountability. It's a team pushing for mental health days in leaders trying to understand how to support without sacrificing mission readiness. And that's just Monday. The struggle is real, but it's not unwinnable. In fact, it's what makes you stronger. Here's what today's leader needs to internalize. You are not
the final version of leadership. You are a chapter in a much longer story. You are both a student and a teacher. You're learning from those around you while guiding those behind you. And you don't lead people the way you were led. You lead based on what they need, not what you received. And your relevance is to your adaptability. Leaders who stop evolving become roadblocks, not role models. And
the struggle isn't against others, it's against staying comfortable. So let's kill the idea that there's a mountaintop called leadership where you plant your flag and yell I made it. There is no summit, there's no statue waiting for you. There's only today in the next decision you make. So leadership is a struggle that deserves your energy, not your ego. And here's the good news. The fact that it's hard
means you're doing it right. The fact that it's not permanent means you'll never run out of opportunities to improve. So ask yourself, how will I shape leadership for the next generation?
