Helping leaders motivate their people to a higher level of performance through strong human relations, team building, and goal of giving. This is the seven Minute Leadership Podcast with your host Paul fella Aldo. Hello everyone, and welcome to the Seven Minute Leadership Podcast, Episode one ninety four. And let's talk about sponsoring rising stars. So one of the most rewarding parts of leadership is spotting talented

people within your organization and helping them reach their full potential. As leaders, we have the ability to become a sponsor for up and coming rising stars. But what does it mean to truly sponsor someone? Because sponsorship goes far beyond mentorship. It's about putting your repuseation on the line in actively advocating for that person. You leverage your influence to open doors, make connections, and give them visibility to other leaders. For example, say you lead the marketing team

and have an employee named Susan who is incredibly talented. Susan has shared her dream of leading the social media division someday. You could offer mentorship, giving Susan advice and guidance, but true sponsorship means putting Susan on important projects, assigning her leadership roles in praising her work to executives. When the social media director job opens up, you recommend Susan enthusiastically to the hiring committee. You

share examples of her great work and potential. You convey why Susan is the perfect fit for this role. This is what makes sponsorship so powerful. You are publicly advocating for someone, using your credibility and reputation to get others on board. So why is this important? It gives rising stars access to networks and opportunities that they can't achieve a loan. It fast tracks their development and

career growth. Your advocacy provides a path upwards through an organization's leadership ranks, and the benefit is not just for them, but for the company culture overall, because when leaders sponsor emerging talent, it motivates taught performers to stay and builds loyalty. Employees see there is room to advance their careers. So who you choose to sponsor sends a strong signal on what behaviors, values, and work ethic you support. So be intentional in spotting rising stars and taking them

under your wing in sponsoring their advancement. It's a part of nurturing future leaders. In building a leadership legacy. The act of sponsorship is an embodiment of leadership at its finest. It's an investment not only in the individual's future, but in the longevity and prosperity of the organization. By elevating the potential of promising talents, leaders set the stage for innovation, growth, and a culture

where excellence thrives. The ripple effect of this action creates an ecosystem where everyone aspires to give their best, seeing the tangible rewards of dedication and hard work.
