Helping leaders motivate their people to a higher level of performance through strong human relations, team building, and goal of GV. This is the Seven Minute Leadership Podcast with your host Paul fella Aldo. Hello everyone, and welcome to the Seven Minute Leadership Podcast, Episode one seventy six. And I was having a discussion at work about starting your own personal growth journey, and I had to stop myself and write some of this stuff down because I thought this is a
podcast. So I think starting your personal growth journey is an exciting step towards self improvement in reaching your full potential, no matter who you are or what you do for a living. So here are some ideas if you want to begin, or if you already or on your way to beginning your own personal growth journey. So number one, it's always going to start with define your
goals. You have to take time to reflect on what you want to achieve in the areas of your life where you'd like to see growth and improvement. And I've talked about this on a couple past episode. It's going to be smart goals. That's what I always use. Smart goals or those that are specific and measurable and achievable and relevant and time bound, and these are goals
that obviously will align with your values and your aspirations. Number two read personal development books, right, You got to dive into books that inspire personal growth and self improvement. That's where you're going to find some of the best inspiration.
And you can choose books from various genres such as psychology and philosophy and leadership and success stories in Some popular titles that come to mind are Atomic Habits is a great one to seven and Habits of highly Effective People in Mindset. These all come to my mind as recommendations. My third tip would be seek mentorship or coaching. Find a mentor or coach who can guide you on your personal growth journey. Look for someone who has expertise in areas you want a
development, can offer guidance, support and accountability. And these people are all over social media. You can find them easily. Number four would be a tend personal development workshops or seminars. Participate in workshops, webinars, seminars focused
on personal growth and self improvement. And again these are everywhere online. You can find them all the time, every day, and they're important because these events can provide valuable insights practical strategies opportunities for networking with like minded individuals, and number five would be practice mindfulness and meditation as part of your daily routine because these practices will help cultivate self awareness, reduce stress, improve focus,
and enhance your overall well being. Consider using meditation apps or guided meditation resources to get started. I know there's a lot of great ones on the app store. Engage in reflective journaling. I love to write, I really do. I do it every single day, but set aside time for reflective journaling to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences. Write down your goals, aspirations,
challenges and lessons learn from the day. And it's important to do this because regular journaling can promote self discovery and provide a space for self reflection and your own personal growth. In number seven, I think is a very important and that surround yourself with positive influences, because when you're with individuals who inspire and support your personal growth journey, it's going to bring out all the positivity
in you. It's going to reinforce that you're not in this alone. Like minded people who can encourage your development and share similar values and goals are irreplaceable. In life. In number eight, embrace lifelong learning again, we go right back to cultivating a mindset of continuous learning. We talk about that all the time with leadership, but you have to explore topics that interest you, take courses, attend webinars, and roll an online learning platform so you can
expand your knowledge and your skills. You have to develop a thirst for knowledge and never stop seeking opportunities to grow intellectually. In number nine would be practice self care. Poritize self care as an essential component of personal growth because it's incredibly important. You have to take care of your physical, mental, and emotional well being. Engage in activities that recharge and energize you. For some people that's going to be exercise, for some, it's going to be hobbies.
For some it's going to be spending time in nature or engaging in creative pursuits, whatever they may be. And the last one is embrace challenges and take action. Step outside of your comfort zone and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. You have to be willing to take action even when it feels uncomfortable
or uncertain. You have to push yourself to try new things and take on projects that stretch your abilities and learn from both successes and failures, because you have to remember that everything you want in life probably lives on the other side of fear. You have to remember personal growth is a continuous journey and it's important to be patient with yourself. Celebrate small winds along the way, and
embrace the process of self discovery and self improvement. Stay committed to your goals, be open to learning, and embrace opportunities for personal growth as they arrive. If you stay the course, you'll experience some magical life moments and rediscover a lot of positive things that you may have tuned out in the past.
