In this chapter, Isaac deceives himself and is wanting to bestow a blessing on a son that shouldn't be getting in, Rebekah deceives her husband to make sure the other son gets the blessing, Jacob deceives his father and brother to get the blessing, and Esau deceives himself thinking he should get the blessing! The one thing this family all has in common is that they are ignoring the promise that has already been spoken by God. And while they are all complicit in their sin, there is a lot more going on here than it appears at first read!
