One of the great things about getting older is wisdom, right, and I mean wisdom from experiences, wisdom from actual experiences. If you are paying attention, if you're really paying attention, you learn a lot because of that. And if you do that, it saves you a lot of stress. You understand things quicker and easier as you get older. Hi, I'm James lot junior. It says fifty plus. I just wanna try to talk about a little something that's happening to me right now that I think is very interesting.
And I'm that I'm older, so I'm handling it differently. So when I was younger, I was specially over a hot head. I would get upset easily, quicker and dismissed and just be like really upset and like how can they do this? And what's wrong with them? And how I don't do it anymore because I've had years now of experience in several different fields that I'm in. So the story I'm gonna tell you today is in my media field,
and this is just how much better I'm handling what's going on. So if you don't know this, or if you do, I have audio dramas and audio comedies. We say, it's like it's old school with new school technology. So it's like radio programs, but we do it's on podcast form and we do them and present them like a show would be on television or on video, but it's all audio. I have to hire actors to act out the different characters, right. So I started this in a pandemic in
twenty twenty and it's been very successful for me. But you know, sometimes you lose people. We gain people. So people. So one of my actors, which I love this word of mouth, was like, I have people who are in might be interested in doing some of your show. I have a lot of productions and productions so I was like okay, and I went, sure, send them to me. Well he did a text things that what she had done, but he ended up doing. But I ended
up directing people. I said, if you're if you're serious, send me an email this email address. Get tired to you get older and send me an email. Let me know who you are and I'll go from there. What says something up? So he sent it, so, bunch of people, if you want to be part of this, I do these things with James is really legitimate and bove all stuff anyway one person, I might say
right away it was actually to people. But one this check right away got back to me and I was like, hi, and to her bugle Saturday and stuff. L introduced herself to the whole thing, and I'm like, oh my god. So I got back to her right away them the momentum's going, so I said, we keep it going. She's like, oh yeah. I said, we do these things over zoom or I. I said, we need to have a zoom so I can hear your voice and then we can also I'll explain the whole process to you and then uh,
you can ask any questions. She's like sure. I said, okay, do you have tomorrow or did? I said, I said, give her date and time options. She chose today the next day today to meet. I said that was great. I said, that's wonderful. We get them minimuims going and I have productions going. I could use her. Maybe it's something right away if she's n you know, new with this, If she's ready, I set up to zoom. I send it to her. Now. All of a sudden, the the the m the email stops. Don't
know what's going on. But I was like, well, maybe just she got the email and was like, okay, I got it. That's the end of correspondence, and I'll I'll just swirl. I got ready this morning cause for me, I'm chowers behind her where she lives. So I get up in the early yet a coiffe, my food, do all that, and I said, I came, I'm around ready, get in front, and she never shows up, no message, nothing. Now I go, okay, there's a time difference thing, so it's quite possible she's confused and
things. Since eleven o'clock my time. But she is the one who told me she only had till which would make it one o'clock her time. But she says she only had till one o'clock her time, so I think she would look at it and whatever. H He never came around eleven o'clock either, I know off nothing happened. So no phone call, no follow up
text, no follow up email, nothing. That's now nighttime. So even if we she didn't get the text, that we get the email or something happened, there's no follow up. Meanwhile, I get other guy, a guy, another person. It's like, oh yeah, I want to do I said, okay, gave him the same spiel. When you have time every day, time you have time tomorrow or Friday, or he's not even
gotten back to me. So before here's the here comes to wisdom before I be pissed and God us everybody, because I want everything to work out. I want new actors. I wanna be funny, exciting. But what I've learned is when people do stuff like this, it's showing me who they are right right away, which could create problems later if I did hire them, which has happened to me. So we get the spirit of wisdom experience. It has happened to me before. So now I'm eliminating the future issues if
it's happening now. So with the girl, I'm not following up with her. I'm not gonna. If she emails me, then I will tell her here's what happened. You didn't show up. You'd even email back, you didn't comorry, she didn't show up. You're doing nothing. So I let her know that and like, thank you for applying. But I'm good. So now you've lost out all our chance. And that's the thing is that And I'm I'm actually way nicer than people in Hollywood. Most of them won't
even give you to, won't even give you to. You don't show up that you're DA. You're dead to them, You're a black ball, You're dead to them. Why I just let people know. I like to do. I'd like to do to people what they don't do to me. I like to still respond to them and let them know whether what they did wrong, so maybe next time they won't do it or whatever. Cause to me, they're showing me how they the the how they treat, how they view
me. I don't care how you know. The other guy not even responding and I even came back to me. I'm like, then maybe, but then also maybe they listen to folder Johns didn't like'em. They don't like like subjects. But they researched me, didn't like me. So I'm learning there are so different things out there that it's God weeding them out. The ones who want to do this and who will make it through will make it through, right, they'll make it through. The ones that are meant to
be with me, we'll make it through. I have actors, some drop off, some stay. I mean, it's it's a whole thing. So I'm just gonna let let it go. And that God, and these two were excited. I don't know what happened with them. The guy saw has a chance, cause I'm not gonna dump him cause we have our initial conversation. I did tell on check out some audio dramas, so we'll see if he gets back to me at all, and then I will go from there.
But the chick guarding to be messed up, I'm already like, I'm already turned off and makes me leary because I used to be a person who would give two or three chances of somebody from the very beginning, and I was always burning the m Another scenario just came up. You know what, don't know what just just happens when I do higher a cast M I don't have people sitting in line separately, and I don't. I don't do that. Some folks do that. It's a lot of I don't have time to
do that kind of work. I either if you can't, if you can't make twenty times, either I cut recast or most of my scripts we record them together, so you're with your scene partner or partners and record'em together. Now, I've been known to kind up a script and record it, which I can and everything. So I did that for a one person. One person she just didn't she thought it was another time period. Now I usually usual film record at the same time every time you need seven pm p
Pacific. Maybe once in a while it'll be six or it'll be eight. It depends on the pendent people who are involved. So I know for a lot of folks they used to it always being seven. Now I could be a bitching Oh well, the email we all agree, you guys agree to six pm or eight pm, and unless when I just an' I d it. So if it happens every once in a while, I don't do anything. But had the one of the leads, we got to more up to record a lot of stuff. We're literally left. There's like three scenes left
and there are major scenes. That's where I need every person. So when I send out in an email say these are the two or three day choices, which ones are you available, it's it's it's like a bingo card. You're like, oh my god, okay, four a vailed on Sunday and so far for the last one, but two are not available on Tuesday. But it's like it'stead. It's crazy to talk it. It sometimes it just
one show the text. We got four full episodes done and we have most of two more done except for the and I can't cut her out cause she's actually one of the leads and I don't want to recast. I thought about recasting and going the role of all we played by cause they're temporary casting, and I've done that a couple of times, like doing shows. But I'm like, but she's healthy, and well it's anyway. So we've had this, so now we have a problem. I've written the next two episodes.
We're halfway through the season. But now each week it's like one person can't make it. Next week, two year old can't out of that, it can't make it. So I just get pissed upset what I've learned. I have to let it go. I have to let it go. And I don't feel like we cast in the role. I want to be the person in the role. So I'm going to the showan hiatus, even though I want to these shows done. I have shows that are done already. We see now I'm learning. I'm learning because a wisdom move on. So I
tell everybody it's on hold for at least another month. Well, but my visit it in late August eight September, I said this point, but I but it's kind but it's almost kind of perfect. And this is where, also you get older, you just let throw all the punches. I wrote a mini series, uh, six episodes and the lead guy literally my best time to have him is in August. Some maybe God closed the door for
that to open up this window over here of opportunity. Right, you get a little older so to where you start to kind of see how things work. So instead of getting upset that I can't finish the text right now, I'm like, hm, I guess some of those actors I'm using for this other show, Like, let's just so now, folks of that, cause there's another show that I have on hould that I'm trying to finish. It's just two more episodes, literally, two more episodes and people and this cast
is accident pround. It's almost hilarious. So things happened healthwise to each person was every time. So we luckily we've we've ever recorded a record thirteen episodes. Well it's one of the longest series we've ever done, so we have thirteen full episodes in they can it's just the last two plus a private scene. So I have to get these done. I really wanna finish this series.
Then I got jet Boy, which is in the US second season, another series I'm doing, and we have two full episodes recorded, just two. I love it because of certain people. We got it. We had two I'm whenna, I'm I'm now as wisdom and experience. I do try to write where the cast could be split up into several sessions if one can't make it or something I am I do have to. I do have that. So I am learning a little b about you. But I've been doing
a lot more of group scenes integrated. I like do that integrated scenes. Before it just felt like one person, next person, one person there. I want it more natural. And there are times when you have three people, three or four people in a room, so I wanna have that. So yeah, so that's kind of going. So I'm making So now I put one on hold, and now it's back to this one. Get this one going, so I can get this done in two or three sessions.
I don't get to know. And so I'm gonna send out either tomorrow or Friday, the notice to the cast. But I also do I send those to the cast high it's a new show, and these of your characters, and do you accept, And we're gonna start. I actually would like to start the last week of July. We can just get it. Let's get it going. Let's get us start. I would love to start like next week or July and go into August to be done so. And it's a
stays there. And what's funny is there's a couple other shows that I wanna write for that I'm trying to so I can squeeze those him. It's it's a it's a jruggling act. But the point of being fifty plus and how it's changing is that I'm much older, much calmer. I see the bigger picture easier this. You know, things happen for a reason, and I understand that. Actually, I'm like, I understand that, and I can live with that. Actually, and I can roll up the punches and work
on other stuff and let people be who they are. I know it sounds like you like these platitudes, let people do, but it's the truth. That person is that person. I can't do something about that, and I'm not gonna worry about it. And I'm going to pivot and change and moreph however, I feel is good for me in the end. But I do feel better that I feel like I'm paying attention to the past, which is helping my presence and my future. This is fifty plus. I'm James Junior
