Hi, kids and kid let's or fifty crowd, I'm talking to you. It's Shames Augenius fifty plus. So I was, I I follow a bunch of younger people. Of course we all do, right, we're on social medium. And I appreciate while I appreciate their wide eyed you know, optimism and strength and minding to fight and things like that before what's cause it's it's a tough time out here right now. I totally get it. But it's funny what they choose to whether it's for clicks and hits or

for real choose to attack. This is one person I follow. And I also notice this cause I'm older now. It's like, that's why I say, fifty plus people, you understand this like I do. When you feel something when you're younger, and not saying we don't when we're older, but when you're younger and you feel something, you feel strongly and you know it's the truth, and you were just like and that's that, and and you know and and this and and just there's a lot of things are black

and white, and that's it. As you get older, you like the world's gray. It's not black and white. So I was listening to him, and I don't know him personally, if he was cute, as why I was following him whatever, and now much he did up in his mouth. His thing was decided to decide to attack Taylor Swift, you know, and which is a popular thing to do because she's popular. You can take anybody who's popular. That's how that's how

the life works. And but Donna asks your album coming out too, and I was like, and so he was basically saying, there's what's going on in the world right now, like, how dare she put out an album? And it's just a bunch of fluff, isn't That wasn't even out yet, so you doesn't even know the songs are sounding or anything. But he's like, if the album just put some fluff, you know, how dare she do that? You know she used to put out album, a protest song and all

this stuff. And I was like, this is this is not for me. It's all a personally this is not it. My worldview is number one because I'm an artist myself. I have two albums coming out right now, and they're both not serious albums. I have pronounced some serious albums and bought some serious songs in the last couple of times. Now I want to dance. Now, I just want to like, I want to just like just kind of get lost in some music. I would hay for somebody tell me

what to do. First of all, if you're an artist, do whatever you want. That's your business. I would nearly anybody dictate what kind of music are you gonna do? I tell you what you have to do. I don't want you doing protest music. If you're not into it, it's not your thing. And here's the deal. Her audience doesn't want it either. It's like it's her audiences want her songs, whether you like it or not, are resonating with millions of people. She knows her audience. She writes

her own music. They have, They have their own meanings. It may not be protest songs. He has their own meanings, and they meet lots of people. I always say, there are folks who do the protest series music very well, and there are folks who are meant to do other kinds of music. I know I'm a privilege that for certain situations I can step out and not as it's not as I'm not a part of it. And many

of this guy too. I mean it's the same. I'm sure he doesn't live in the parks and all this stuff that is whatever, but it's it's it's that whole thing of all or nothing, and they there's a whole term called doomscrolling. But people just I know it's hard, but he can't help themselves are online twenty four seven and look at the news twenty four seven and just like just I mean, cause it's it's scary world out there. But I'm sorry, as I got older, I don't do that.

And the world's the world's fucked up. I guess I get it. I am employing myself from certain things, of course, but not twenty very seven. I do need to escape any person. We're human. You need to escape. And music is that. Books are that. I don't want able to come out to just be a book about what's going on in the world. I wanna escape it for an hour or two. What's wrong with having music that comes out you escape for like thirty five minutes, seventy minutes,

how long the album is. I think, I guess nothing wrong with that, and sometimes it's warranted. You can't just be on warrior mode twenty four to seven. In my opinion, if you choose to be that way that you're a business, obviously you can do it. But for me, yes, I choose my moments where I'm on warrior mode. I choose my moments where I haven't take time off. And again, I know my privilege. I'm lucky to do that where I live and how I'm living. Some folks don't have

that luxury. I totally get it. But when it comes to music, I think it's you know, everybody's artistic expression is their business, and it's room for all of it. There are folks out there who are putting out really great conscious music. So instead of attacking Taylor Swift, which is just either you try to get more views or reels or it's just it's just tone death, then show artists who are putting out good music share their work. That's what I do all the time. I'm always I mean,

I do my shows. I interview indie artists who are doing conscious rap, or conscious R and B or conscious pop. Christian. I had Christian artists on here. They songs smile. He wants people to He want some people to like uplift themselves, and that's what I love that's what I's how, that's how I'm observed, instead of attacking people that just I mean, plus, no one wants to hear Madonna and do protest music.

I mean, they don't care about that. But there are artists out there who are dreamings who came and get attention. I have friends dreams I can't get attention. So I was I'm not gonna out this guy, obviously, but I would just but again, to me, it shows his age. I would say them, instead of folks going on Taylor Swift or Madonna or Kyley, even Dug or whatever, go to people who are actually Mariah carrys without coming out.

Don't go after them, go after the ones who are really putting out some great stuff that's meaning to it and mean something to you. Share that. That's how I just how. I mean, seriously, that's how I look at everything like that. That's how you that's how you do it to mean, that's age, that's wisdom. We all need breaks from stuff. You have to have breaks from stuff you go crazy. So I just I just that inspired this episode of fifty plus. I'm like this because most

of you guys who are listening are over fifty. You know, what I'm talking about. You know exactly what I'm talking about. We know how do you separate? We know everybody has their place. Everybody has everybody has a place in the village. They do
