Episode description

In this final of four CSM bonus episodes, Katy talks to Dr. Laurie King about her study on the impact of an exercise intervention in people with PD on the MiniBEST, freezing of gait, gait mechanics, dual task function, and patient-reported outcomes. They discuss the ins and outs of the study including who responded best and details of the agility bootcamp intervention. They also delve into Laurie and her colleagues’ upcoming research on turning in people with PD. This research was the basis for a platform presentation that won the DD SIG’s Best Platform Award at APTA’s CSM 2020. The Degenerative Diseases Special Interest Group is part of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy - www.neuropt.org.
