Uh, I mean yeah, I mean it's tough in the moment, Like, you know, what goes in my mind is obviously try to get him out of bounds and have our defense get good field position, you know, on on a turnover. You know, obviously you don't want to turn the ball over, but I don't want them returning it. So I feel like I had leverage to you know, get him out of bounds, and that's just
what I tried to do. So yeah, obviously I don't want to be like tackling in the preseason, but you know, just it happened so quick and I was just trying to get him out of bounds. Yeah, yeah, I did. I mean it happened so fast, man. You know, the balls turned over, they're all hype. I'm on their sideline on the ground, and uh, you know, that's just where
I was at in the moment. And I don't know if he could have done anything different or what, but you know, it's football, man, It gets chaotic, so part of it. Yeah, Yeah, I felt good to get out there with the guys and just move the ball. You know, last week obviously wanted to move it a little bit more efficiently and stuff. So to get out there and get some first downs and score and put the points up on the board felt good. So we were all
in a rhythm. Obviously, throw down, get man coverage on on a on a slant, get the ball up in the air like it just it sucks. But before that, felt like we were in a pretty good rhythm. Yeah, obviously, Like you know, when you're starting out a game, you sort of have your openers, and you have an idea of like what plays you want to run, and you know who you want to try to get the ball
to if it's the right look. And you know, sure enough we got we got some good looks and good opportunities to get the balls in Deebo's hands and and uh George's hands. So I feel like we did a good job of you know, sort of connecting and and just feeling that game atmosphere again, you know, for us as as starters. So yeah, man, he's he's come in obviously rookie year, chip on the shoulder, trying to make
the team, undrafted guy. And you know, he and I had, you know, studied every day together and did our little walk throughs together. So to see him, you know, sort of come on the scene and and have success obviously through special teams the first couple of years, and and some crucial runs as well, and then this offseason you know, sort of sort of grow up and and just mature, you know as a as an NFL running back has
been pretty sweet to see. So obviously, I think his knowledge with the playbook and understanding where he needs to be as a running back, with the gaps that he's hitting, and and obviously being able to be there for checkdown in the in the past game. You know, he's he's got great hands and and just overall, I just feel like he's become more of a professional, you know, as playing in the NFL, going to his third year. So I'm really excited for him. A year ago we were
talking about that connection. He had an opportunity at all this off season in front. Uh, I have not, no, you know, it's just sort of how it had how it's gone. Every time I've thrown since being here in California with the team, it's been you know, the organized team activities and and obviously he hasn't participated in in the in those things, so we just haven't had a chance to throw so is there any talent in your
mind that he joins the team? Uh I, I think I'd be confident in in us being able to pick up where we left off, you know, thrown to him for two years and and obviously going on three understanding our plays, our concepts, where he needs to be, where the receiver needs to be. I'd be pretty confident in him coming back and and us being on the same page.
So yeah, him, Yeah, yeah, I mean, obviously it's a third preseason game, and it's like, man, we're so close to you know, our opening day and and being ready for the regular season. And so when you got a guy like that, you know that obviously we get in the off season you're excited about and then you see him, you know, go down. You know for all of us who were just like come on, man, like like dang it. But obviously he came back. You know, the the word
is good. You know, just around that, you know he's feeling better, so you know, hopefully he's good to go. But you know, like I said, third preseason game and seeing one of our starters go down like that, it's always scary. So you all a little bit, But uh, I haven't like gone all in. I've just you know, sort of skimmed over some games and seen what they've done like last year, but I haven't really gone falling
on it yet. Yeah, I mean it's I think it's on now, you know, just in terms of obviously trying to see where we're at as an offense myself, where I can continue to get better, but also know that you know, this is the team that we're gonna be playing week one, so uh now we have all this time to you know, sort of get healthy for one and then two, you know, attack just the scheme of things with how we expect the game to go and what we're gonna try to do. So we got a
couple of weeks to go and excited for it this one. Yeah, I mean, you know, just driving into the stadium and then yeah, seeing the locker room and our lockers are for this game, at least they were in the different different spots, and then you know, just being on the sideline. It seems like yesterday we were just playing that game. So you know, obviously it sucks thinking about it and
and how we just weren't able to finish. But it's twenty twenty four and we're excited for the season, so we're gonna have another opportunity at it, So thanks guys. M
