The Holy Spirit ("pneuma") stands as the transformative power and true source of Christian life, moving you beyond the exhaustion of external laws. Discover how holiness and freedom arise from an internal change brought about by the Spirit, not from mere rules or human effort.
Through Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit sets believers free from the law of sin and death, replacing it with a new law of life and no condemnation. This freedom is a transformative power that offers a new identity and empowers believers to live righteously, moving from a survival mindset to a freedom mindset by embracing God's truth.
Your faith depends on you. If you don’t truly believe, you won’t be able to live it out—it will hold no real meaning for you. If what you are saying to yourself is contradictory to the promises of scripture - you will never step into the fullness of what God has for you.
As we begin our new series, More Than Conquerors, we’ll journey through Romans 8 and discover what it means to live by the Spirit rather than by the law.
And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Protect me, God, for I take refuge in you. I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides you.”
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.
The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.
Remember your Creator while you’re still young, Before the years take their toll and your vigour wanes, Before your vision dims and the world blurs. And the winter years keep you close to the fire.
All share a common destiny-the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good man, so with the sinner; as it is with those who take oaths, so with those who are afraid to take them.
A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth. It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me - I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.
A man can never be the same after hearing God's truth spoken in the power of the Holy Spirit; he will either obey and go forward, or ignore and die a little. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun: I saw the tears of the oppressed- and they have no comforter; power was on the side of their oppressors- and they have no comforter.
There will be a time and there will be a place where God will bring justice and judgement to both the wicked and the righteous. Until then, we live in the knowledge that God is big and we are small.
God’s purposes unfold at the intersection of place and time.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build. All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless. A person can do nothing better [TOV] than to eat and drink and find satisfaction [TOV] in their own toil.
A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God.
“Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun?
Lord, we have heard of Your fame; we stand in awe of Your awesome deeds. Now Lord, repeat them in our day, in our time make them known.
