I don't think anyone figured that Antman as a character would be able to ride out as a solid franchise and yet here we are on the third film. Kicking off Phase 5, Quantumania has alot going for it. Its bigger in scope than the previous two films, it has a big villain in Kang the Conqueror, and it also sets up the bigger stakes for the upcoming Avengers film. 3BG Rating- 4 out of 10
It's not everyday a movie that was made just to fulfill a contract and was mid at best turns into a beloved cult classic. No his best but one that gave us great moments.
What happens when M. Night just does a straight-up adaptation with a not-so-crazy twist? You get this film. This is probably one of M. Night's most straightforward films which will either make people like it or not like it depending on your expectations.
Perhaps its fitting that on Black History Month we talk about Kamen Rider Black Sun, a show that tries to mix in the currect political climate of the BLM movement with a reimagining of the Kamen Rider Black show. Overall the show is a bit of a letdown and we go into it on why that it is.
The guys talk about the recent news of E3 not having the big 3 of Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft not being in attendance, the Forsaken controversy, live services games being taken down, and the recent RE4 remake update video.
A classic we did once before, except this time we're acting the living sh*t out of it! Our boy Denzel joins this little play to add to the craziness.
SO MANY MEMORIES! ...but wait. This isn't right. The puppets. The action. The corny jokes. Something isn't right at all. This movie isn't that good. Like...it's bad. Maybe very bad. But it slaps to millennials who need 90's copium. ...I blame Vanilla Ice.
The Geeks are headed back to Shadow Moses. This is the first of five dives into the Metal Gear world. It's going to be amazing, confusing, convoluted, but more importantly educational. All of this is approved by the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo.
Missing is an interesting film in a genre that isn't quite crowded mainly because it's rare you get a movie that's consistently decent like this. What you have is a simple movie with a couple of good twists. 6 out of 10
Gerard Butler does these kinds of films in his sleep and you know what? This film is surprisingly really good. It's a throwback to simple 80's & 90's action films that got straight to the point with the plot and action. The movie gives you just enough to keep you entertained and wanting to see these characters make it through the film to the end. Definitely a helluva way to kick off 2023 at the movies. 7 out of 10
The director of this movie commented on one of my TikTok's. And here we are.
Kevin Smith is actually a big part of 3BlackGeeks. He inspired us to make this podcast. It stops there, cuz Kevin Smith is fine but his movies aren't perfect, but his best movies are all of our favorites. The first movie we chose out of his resume was Dogma. A movie you can tell Kevin wrote in high school. A lot of Good ol' Gen-X Christian Edgelord humor.
What better way to end 2022 than to talk about a very fun sentai in Kakuranger. This is a series that more than anything is peak Sentai from top to bottom. Dope character arcs, great antagonists, solid action, and just fun times overall.
When volcanos blow, shit goes down. Dante's Peak is a quick yet long sit but it gives you all that you want. Lava, dumb townspeople, a good looking scientist and smart kids. Oh, oh, oh...and a old lady bites it in boiling sulfuric water. Nice.
We taken it back to the late 60's! We's doin a Western! The Wild Bunch! Pure badass old Hollywood! The 3 Geeks talk about this classic gunslinger movie! And yes, it's very entertaining.
Seems that we been down this road before. Except everything goes boom-boom bigger in this one. In this edition of White House Die Hard, the President is captured by North Korean rebels. Oh, and the US military gets bullied! Yeah, all of this is fiction.
The unexpected passing of Jason David Frank sent shock through not just Power Ranger fandom but in the mainstream fandom as well. It speaks volumes to how much JDF was the legit face of the franchise.
Time for 3BG to redo a year 2 episode. This time we have better jokes, better mics and we have a lot to talk about. Soooooooo many "Like A Dragon" jokes. So many punches and weird characters.
The Michael Bay banger! This movie is Metal Gear Solid. But then again we see everything as Metal Gear.
In 2020, Dee said "Fantasy Island" has an ass kicking waiting on it in a few years. Well it's been a few. This movie sucks all round. It had chances to work, but nah. BTW, this the Halloween Special. Boo Nigga. New Intro by Cxdy New Outro by Momo Ward
Before 9-11, hacking and exposing the government meant something different. The world isn't ready for this hacker who...is actually kinda of a good guy? Shut up! This a Joel Silver movie, let's get nuts!
This movie was a long time coming and its finally here. Overall we got a very middle of the road film that has some good things going for it but also has some bad things that keep it from being excellent compared to Shazam and Aquaman.
In this episode of Dragonball, we talk about this action packed saga. It's always fun to go back to these episode of Dragonball before it got insane.
With the Hasbro Pulse Con over with, CJ & Prime talk all about the latest news from Hasbro dealing with Power Rangers from the upcoming Lightning Collection figures to the big Cosmic Fury show announcement. Fun times ahead of New York Comic Con happening as well.
Its been awhile but we're back!!!! Tackling all the news out of SDCC this year and then getting down to the nitty gritty with Ultraman Dyna
1985, time travel was made with the help of a car that can only go 85 mph downhill. The movie was still iconic! In this super show an episode, we talk about everything. Time Travel to Racism. ...of course we did.
So...LA in the Predator world is insane. It's like the 92 riots didn't stop. This makes the cops tougher. That's where Danny Glover comes in. Seems that he's fighting gang members who are being hunted. This movie a NEGRO CLASSIC!
It's been 150 episodes of WTSS. Cj and Dee talk about what happen year one of the show, we also talk NBA, NFL Preseason, MLB trades and the 90's Nickelodeon TV special, "4 Points". Starring Robert Richard, Kenan Thompson and Clifton Powell. Or as Cj calls it, the Steph Curry story.
Our boys our in the jungle and they were killed by the commie's! Time for Arnold and the boys to take care of these Reds. But they not Reds! They not even They! It's one person...no...one hunter. 3BG are proud to talk about this manly ass movie!
