Rurouni Kenshin

Before we got the awesomeness that was Samurai Champloo, we were graced with another show based around samurai in the form of Rurouni Kenshin. Set during the Meji Era, the show traced a wandering samurai named Kenshin as he had various adventures and fights while also keeping his past as a killer behind him. Its a pretty solid show with the Kyoto arc being the pinnacle of the series.

Morphin Metacast - Big Bad Beetleborgs Season 1

Much like VR Troopers, Big Bad Beetleborgs was another Saban side project that was a success. Taking the footage from another Metal Heroes series called B-Fighter, Beetleborgs was essentially a very kid friendly version of that series with the added bonus of having interaction with the Universal monsters sort of. Its definitely different than VR Troopers and Power Rangers if only because the focus is more on the kids than anything.

Basilisk

Take one part Ninja Scroll, one part Romeo & Juliet, and one part Mortal Kombat which will give you the anime, Basilisk. This is a show that has a decently interesting plot that takes it cues from the Shakespeare classic. But honestly the real reason you watch the show is because of the characters and fights and this show delivers on it in spades.

3BGPodcast| Legend of Drunken Master

Legend of Drunken Master is a reboot of the Drunken Master series and a damn good entertaining movie. This movie pretty much gives you the usual Chan shenanigans with lots of comedy but also wall-to-wall action showcasing Drunken boxing. A movie that's worth the watch.

Morphin Metacast| Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue

Up to this point, every Power Rangers season the characters obtained their powers through magic or existing tech from another galaxy. So here we have a season wherein we have a scenario where the military develops there own Power Rangers tech which gave us a very cut and dry season. 3BGPodcast| Jackie Chan Adventures

Celebrities have always had a history tied into the world of cartoons. Some have a had moderate success, some have been outright bad, and then you have the ones that have been runaways successes pushing multiple seasons. Which brings us to Jackie Chan Adventures. The show more or less feels like an extension of Chan's Armor of Gods series where him and other characters go on adventures searching for relics and getting into mischief. This ends up working out for 5 seasons and each season ups the ...

3BGPodcast| Who Am I?

Mainstream audiences are aware of Chan's movies in America and some of the movies he's made in Hong Kong. Every once in a while Chan will film a movie in another country that's different than what he usually does. Who Am I is a very tight movie that moves along at a good pace. You have a pretty good story of a guy trying to get his memories back alongside trying to piece together how it all happened in the first place. Good action and fun characters make it worth the watch.

3BGPodcast- Police Story 3 (Super Cop)

Police Story 3 aka SuperCop finally brings our hero to the 90's. The story is very fast-paced and he even has a partner in Michelle Yeoh who holds her own next to Chan. Very good flick all around especially if you're a fan of any sort of action film.

3BG at the Movies| Batman V Superman

Man of Steel managed to divide a fanbase when it came to Superman despite how well made the movie was. After 3 years of development we are finally brought a movie that was highly anticipated after being teased about since back during the Schumacher era of Batman films. Batman V Superman ends up being a polarizing film that ultimately ends up sort of disappointing you cause deep beneath the issues the film has is a good movie.

3BGPodcast| Clue

Movies based on board games are few and far between mainly because there have only been two movies. Clue and Battleship. Clue manages to be a pretty good and entertaining movie because it hits on the very thing that makes the game fun which the solving the mystery. With a really good cast of actors/actresses, this flick is entertaining from beginning to end.

3BGPodcast| Ace Ventura Pet Detective

The movie that pretty much made Jim Carrey a household name, Ace Ventura is a hilarious movie that still holds up. Carrey's brand of comedy doesn't come off as annoying which is a credit to his comedic style. His character of Ace is him just going nuts and it's amazing how anyone during this movie was able to keep a straight face and not laugh whenever he was on screen.

3BGPodcast| Life

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence in the same movie. It was a long time coming and it was well worth it. Life is a movie that is funny from beginning to end and you can see both Martin and Eddie firing on all cylinders with the comedy. With a great supporting cast, this flick is well worth the watch.

3BGPodcast| Romeo Must Die

What can be said about a movie that paired up Jet Li with the late and great Aaliyah? Lots of things actually. Here we have a movie that was fusing that Asian/hip-hop influence while attempting to be a sort of loose adaptation of Romeo and Juliet... Action and funny wire-fu be damned.

Morphin Metacast| VR Troopers

So at the height of Power Rangers initial success, Saban opted to spread his wings and do American adaptations of other tokusatsu shows. One of those shows is based off the Metal Hero franchise. In comes VR Troopers which did lots of things that made it different than just another show like Power Rangers. Sure the characters transformed into suited heroes but these characters were different. They were young adults instead of teenagers and they had actual lives. The show overall was interesting a...

3BGPodcast| Truck Turner

As much as Shaft is a beloved blaxploitation classic, Truck Turner is quite possibly equal if not better than it. Isaac Hayes is very enjoyable as the title character but it's Nichelle Nichols who steals the movie. We've known her for years as Uhura in Star Trek and she was always a capable actress but you immediately gravitate to her cause of how great she does as a villain. The plot is simple but it's the characters and action that brings it all together perfectly.

BAMPodcast| Bible Black Part 2

There was so much WTF that it had to be told in two parts. Minase and Imari get close, and the word rape is used a lot, we finally see the wrath of a side-chick and all's well that ends on a cliffhanger. As you guessed NSFW!!!!!!!

3BGPodcast| Coffy

Blaxploitation has always been good about women empowerment and no other woman did it better than Pam Grier. Coffy is an enjoyable movie because despite how fine the character was she was just as deadly and ruthless as the men which is a huge plus. Overall this is a classic movie that is worth a watch.

3BGPodcast| Ride

There is nothing to say about this movie. It's a hodgepodge of moments featuring lower-tier actors and rappers. The story is paper thin and yet you have to marvel at how it's all put together. lol
