They's bit of breaking is. Paul Dowsley joins us from Channel seven. Apparently there's been another incident at the Northland Shopping Center, which doesn't sound like a place you want to go to it anymore.
Paul, good morning, Good morning Tom. Yeah, the center is being evacuated at the moment. There appears, from what I'm understanding, a fire, a small fire in part of the shopping center. Potentially Meyer is in darkness. The alarms are going off. Obviously here for seven News following up what happened yesterday, and suddenly an announcement came over to speaker saying that there was a fire and now staffed telling people to evacuate the center.
It's curse. Thank you, Paul. Paul Dowsy there from seven years so two weeks ago, machete fight on a Sunday afternoon yesterday Stolin Tourt de Lancres allegedly style and being driven through the shopping center and smashing over ballards and our fire grinny, Paul, thank you. Caroline joins us. We spoke pulled down Channel seven years reporter about twenty minutes ago said that there was a fire alarm going off at Northland shopping center, which just seemed to be cursed.
At the moment Caroline joined, you were at Northland before, Caroline.
Yes, I was, and it was absolutely terrifying. I was near the ANZ bank and I just finished my banking and all of a sudden, there was like three explosions, smoke everywhere, and what really shocked me was that everyone just stood there going about their own business and then shock.
So you're seeing an explosion happened? Something blew up?
Yeah, something blew up. Like there was so much smoke that was in secondsly that whole area near Myers and the banks. You nearly couldn't see from the smoke.
Okay, so it wasn't a false alarm, then.
Was it? I definitely not know and I couldn't. One woman said okay, everyone to the nearest exit. And as soon as I saw the smoke getting worse, and then I heard more. I don't know whether our gunshots or explosions.
I just ran.
I bolted, and I've run through that center. Not once did I hear any announcement over the PA and I was yelling out for everyone, get out, there's a fire, there's something going on. And at the same time I was so scared. I thought, what if I'm running into some kind of gang bullets, you know, like I was absolutely terrified.
Now I can hear it in your voice, Carol, I looks down the line, because we've spoken off here with the police and they say nothing serious is going on at Northland. But what you've just described sounds very serious. You'll certainly be in the running for the Weekly Word on the Straight prize, the one thousand all of our thanks to Catalina Interiors. We will chase that up. Caroline, thanks for calling in.
