Episode description

Season 1, Episode 35

The greatest need we have when communicating is to be heard and understood!  To understand what someone is saying requires our listening.  Hearing and listening are not the same!  Just because we hear someone talking, doesn't mean we are actually listening.

Have you ever had someone say to you (maybe a child?)... "You are not listening!"  Unfortunately, I have heard this all too often from my children and on occasion from my wife.  Hearing is about volume and projection, listening is about understanding.  Listening is not about having an answer or solving a problem.  Listening involves feeling, emotion, and connection.

In today's episode, we will discuss the difference between hearing and listening and some practical steps we can take to become better listeners.  When we become better listeners we become better leaders!
