Sunday was day three of search and rescue operations after flash flooding killed at least eighty people in central Texas, including at least twenty eight children in Kerr County, where ten girls and one counselor from Camp Mystic are still unaccounted for. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said Sunday that search and rescue efforts will continue around the clock.

We will remain one hundred percent dedicated searching for every single one of the children who were at Camp Mystic, as well as anybody else in the entire river bed, to make sure that they're going to be recovered.

He added that flash flooding is still a danger as more rain is in the forecast. President Trump announced he signed a major disaster declaration for Kerr County, where most of the deaths happened. Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers is taking aim at President Trump's newly signed A Big Beautiful Bill. Appearing on ABC's This Week, Summers said the GOP megabill is a step in the wrong direction for the country.

This is a shameful act by our Congress and by our president, that is going to set our country back. The legislation includes over four trillion dollars in tax reductions, which the administration claims will benefit working class Americans. Top Democrats posted their reactions on social media, with Senator Chuck Schumer claiming the new bill was a betrayal of US citizens. Today was expected to be the busiest travel day of

the long fourth of July holiday weekend. Triple A expected more than seventy two million people were on the move during the holiday period that started on June twenty eighth. That's an additional one point three million road travelers as compared to twenty twenty four. It also says five point eighty four million people flew to their destinations, a new record. Mexico has won its record tenth CONCACAF Gold Cup title, defeating the US two to one on Sunday in Houston.

Mexico scored a tie breaking goal in the seventy seventh minute after a video review reversed an offside call. He announced the creation of the America Party on x a day after posting a poll asking users if they support making a new party. Musk said the party will give Americans quote back your freedom the world's richest man. Went on to say the party would caucus independently and could focus on just a few seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives. It's unclear if the party has been officially registered. The measles outbreak that began earlier this year in an unvaccinated community in West Texas has become the worst since the disease was declared eradicated twenty five years ago. Data from the Center for Outbreak Response Innovation at John Hopkins University shows there have been nearly thirteen hundred confirmed cases of measles so far this year, that exceeds the previous peak for all of twenty nineteen. The outbreak has led to one hundred and fifty five people being hospitalized, with

three con frons deaths. There's data from an organization based in Washington State showing that sixty six UFOs have been spotted in the skies over New York. So far this year, Sarah le Kessler reports.

There are reports of everything from zigzag and green orbs and white flying saucers chased by helicopters. The reports include sightings filed by people looking skyward in New York City, Long Island, and in upstate towns. They're documented by the National UFO Reporting Council, not independently verified. The council says over the past thirty years, there have been sixty two hundred UFO sightings in New York. The Louisville Zoo is losing one of its longtime family members, Cecil the Gorilla is moving out west to a one acre habitat at the San Francisco Zoo. Cecil has called Kentucky home for the past twenty one years, but this move will give him a chance to lead his own gorilla group.
