At least seventy people are confirmed dead since catastrophic flooding hit central Texas on Friday. Kerr County Sheriff Larry Letha revised the death toll to fifty nine in his county alone.

President Trump has signed a major Disaster declaration for Kirk County amid the deadly flooding. Crews are slowly making progress in battling California's largest wildfire of the year. The Madre Fire started on Wednesday afternoon and his burned nearly eighty thousand acres and is about thirty percent contained. The fire has prompted highway closures in San Louis Obispo County, along with evacuation orders and warnings. Cal Fire says more than six hundred personnel are fighting
the blaze, with numerous air tankers supporting the effort. What's left of Tropical Storm Chantal is dumping heavy rain in the Carolinas as it moves north after making landfall. The National Hurricane Center says Chantal weakened to a tropical depression with top winds of about thirty five miles an hour as it moves further inland. New York City Officials are monitoring the waters off Long Island after a series of shark sidings that led to a temporary beach closure on the fourth of July. Emergency management officials teamed up with lifeguards to monitor the sharks before ending the closure. Officials are using drones to keep an eye on the sharks. The American Academy of Dermatology is offering tips to protect against summer sun damage, which
can cause sunburn, brown spots, wrinkles, and skin cancer. It starts with sunscreen, which should be applied fifteen minutes before heading outdoors. The Academy recommends that your sunscreen have an SPF of thirty or higher and be water resistant. It should also offer broad spectrum protection against harmful UV rays. Byrd's legacy in Seattle will soon be cemented. PIM reported the retired WNBA star will be the first player in the league to get a statue made in her honor. Bird's statue will be unveiled on Sunday, August seventeenth, the same day as the Storm's match against the Phoenix Mercury. The game is being called the franchise's Forever Sue Game. Yes, Melby walked down the aisle this weekend marrying hairstylist Rory McPhee. The two tie the knot in the crypt of Saint Paul's Cathedral in London, England. Saturday reception was held at the Shangri La Hotel inside the Shard, the UK's tallest building. Melby shares daughter angel Iris Murphy Brown with Eddie Murphy, who she had a relationship with in
