Crews have been searching through the night for survivors of a Texas flood that killed at least twenty four people and swept away dozens more. Ryan Chandler reports from Kerrville.

Speaker 2

It's going to be a mass casualty event.

Speaker 1

The sheriff here says they fear that the number of dead will only rise as the search for survivors continues. We've seen helicopters surveying the area. Drones and dive teams also deployed to try and find anyone who may still be alive.

Governor Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration in the area northwest of San Antonio, where parts of central Texas where inundated Friday by floodwaters from the Guadalupe River. President Trump has responded to the disaster and said the federal government will be sending aid. The Carolina Coast is bracing for a tropical storm. A tropical depression over the Atlantic Ocean is expected to strengthen into tropical storm Chantal before

it hits South Carolina either tonight or early tomorrow. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain, rip currents, and strong surf to both South and North Carolina this weekend. President Trump is claiming victory after signing his controversial tax and immigration bill into law. Kelly O'Donnell has more Happy Fourth of July.

Trump addressed a large group of supporters from the White House balcony on Friday and said he had never seen people so happy in our country because so many different groups of people will be taken care of. The so called Big Beautiful Bill includes over four trillion dollars in tax deductions, which the administration claims will benefit working class Americans. There are reports amasas inching closer to a ceasefire deal with Israel. The Gaza Deal, which includes a sixty day ceasefire,

as being broken by the US. President Trump says Israel has already agreed to the deal and claims an agreement could be reached by next week. I'mly se tailor. President Trump says the US will soon begin notifying countries about their new tariff rates. Trump told reporters Friday that over the next five days, the White House will send letters to dozens of countries detailing what they'll have to pay to import their goods. Trump said some countries could face

rates as high as seventy percent. Now that the fourth of July is over, the rush to get home is expected to hit Sunday. Natalie macgliori has more.

TSA spokespirst in Jessica Melee says security checkpoints are prepared for the surge of flyers trying to get home. I think sometimes the departures are spread out, but that return is a little more concentrated. So if you're flying on Sunday, July six, pretty much anywhere across the country, make sure

you give yourself plenty of time. Meantime, Triple A spokesman Robert Sinclair says noon to six pm is going to be the worst time to be on the roads, as a majority of the sixty one million people driving try to return home.

Planned c section births can raise the risk of some childhood cancers. According to a study from Sweden, which found that children from cesarean verse before labor begins have a twenty one percent higher risk of developing acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a blood and bone marrow cancer. Children born in an emergency see section didn't show the same risk. Researchers think it's because emergency deliveries expose the child to stress, hormones

and bacteria that affect immune system developments. The NBA Summer League begins this weekend. The Heat, Lakers, Burs and Warriors will take part in the California Classics starting today until July eighth. The Grizzlies Jazz seventy six Ers in Thunder, meanwhile will participate in the Salt Lake City Summer League. Jennifer Aniston will play a domineering stage mother in her new series.
