 Schizophrenia is arguably one of the most puzzling yet disabling of all brain diseases, It is a poorly understood illness.
A person suffering from illness may have the following symptoms

1) Hallucinations – Person hears voices/sounds which are inaudible to others, person may feel wired taste sensation.
Eg : Person hears some familiar voices.

2) Delusions – Person has a false, firm, unshakable belief about certain things which does not change even after giving evidence to contrary.
Eg: Person starts believing that his/her neighbour is plotting against him/her.

3) Disorganized Speech- Person start talking to self, at times he is unaware of what he is talking, and may sound irrelvevent to the person whom he is talking with.

4) Disorganized Behaviour- Person suffering from the illness,stops his/her day to day chores (like eating, bathing)and is not bothered to follow them.

5) Negative symptoms
Affective flattening or blunting
a. Unchanging facial expressions
b. Paucity of expressive gesture
c. Poor eye contact
Alogia
a. Poverty of speech
d. Increased latency of response
Avolition—apathy
a. Grooming and hygiene
b. Impersistence at work or school
Anhedonia—asociality
a. Recreational interests and activities
b. Sexual interest and activities
c. Intimacy and closeness
d. Relationships with friends.
