Check. This is the two seventeen Recovery Podcast with Corey Winfield. You knows as soon as he gives it to her, he's gonna give her his heart to her too, and we have kids and getting married. That's too far. It is the thirty first of May twenty twenty three. My name's Corey Winfield and this is the two seventeen Recovery podcast. Coming to you from the North Studio today. And joining me in the North studio is Justin Burke Justin. How you doing, my man? I'm doing fabulous. I'm glad you're
here. I don't think you've Yeah, you've done one podcast from here anything before a couple. And joining me from the building but not in the studio is Mitchell. Mitchell, how are you today? Man? I'm doing great. The weather up here in the front office is fabulous. So I didn't like it. At the third time I walked to there today, I got like a pain in my side. Yeah, I got in the foot. Yeah, has something to do with it. Just storm drill bad, I think, yep. Yeah. Oh you know what do you know, man?
M do you think every day's sunshine rainbow? Well? I guess you wouldn't be rainbows. But what's that? How's that saying? Now and not every day sunshine and rainbows? Is that not a saying? What am I doing here? Yeah? I'm not for sure. Not every day is rainbow. There's a saying that we use, right, especially in recovery. Not every day it's gonna be sunshine rainbows. Hey, that's what I just said. But it sounded weird when I said, Yeah, it doesn't sound right.
He asked the boss out there if she's ever heard that expression. Hey, boss, boss Marnie, Um, have you ever heard the term sunshine and rainbows? Is that a term? Sounds weird to all of us? Say, like if you're gonna have like not every day can be great? Like, not every day can be sunshine and rainbows. That's it? Oh, she said, it's right. Maybe it's because we're saying it in a derogatory way maybe so it doesn't seem right. Oh. She said, you
can interchange anything cute and girly, like like unicorns and rainbows. Oh, lollipops and puppies. Oh okay, okay, tell her, thanks, thank you. Okay, Well we got that settled. I'm glad that that we did. But yeah, not everybody. Not every day can be kittens and puppies, you know, they can be sometimes m MOREL mushroom ice cream. You know, it's like you think it's gonna MOREL mushroom ice cream. No. Yeah, you think, oh man, that sounds great, and then
you eat and you're like, oh my god, it's horrible. Who even you screwed up two things. You shucrewed up ice cream and you screwed up moral mushrooms. Yeah. So yeah, so those those days where you think everything is gonna be great and everything is gonna be going away, and then it just doesn't. So that's kind of happening with the weather today. Is that a real thing? Yeah? I had it once in Charlotvoi, Michigan. Was it good? No, it's horrible. Yeah, it's absolutely disgusting.
It's not okay, No, it's not because, like I said, I was pissed because I like moral mushrooms and I like ice cream. But you put them together and I don't know, maybe somebody actually really put a dog turn in there and like we're gonna tell people it's moral mushroom. I don't think they did that, but it wasn't. It was not good So if you're ever out and about and you're like, hey, I want to try some more ould mushroom ice cream, I mean you can, but I'm
just telling you it sucks. So thanks for the heads up. That's what I do, man. You know, I try to give people good recommendations on ice cream, and I just I think I just gave you one there. So I'm glad that you guys are here though, um Justin you you're web page on two seventeen recovery dot com. I had a little makeover today. Yeah it looks amazing. Yeah it looks really cool. And say fabulous. Oh no, all right, now you gotta now you're trying to pick
on Justin. Now you gotta explain the story what's going on. Fabulous is his favorite word. I heard him say it twice today. But it's a good word. Yeah, it's a fun word in recovery. M I mean, how many fabulous days do we have when we were using none point exactly. I'm just saying if I had a nickel for every time he said the word fabulous or tried to sell somebody a shirt. Now, you guys have been beefing all day. I love this because just as usually you're out on
the road, you know, taking people to from treatment. She had some office time today. And I think Mitch said to you earlier, well, he was giving a crap about the shirt. And what I'm talking about is when we were live at you fam, we sent you out with the wireless and you were to talk to people in the crowd, and you did, and we finally got a lady who actually was a real person and giving a real story that was real heartfelt, and right when she gets into it,
you're just like, yeah, I want to buy shirt. Yeah, there's tons of people like like the most inappropriate time, and you did it and it was awesome. So that's where Mitch is coming from with that. And he kind of was busting your balls earlier, saying that you want you to say that to everybody that walks by or something, And you said that you listened to the piecast that he had done like him and Adam, and you said that he was busting your balls on that podcast as well every podcast since
then. And then he almost at it to the mailman Toddy, Oh are you laughing? I can't stop laughing. I'm trying really hard. So you said fabulous day or a T shirt. I think you tried to sell him a fabulous T shirt? Should we make those? Of This gonna be a thing now, guys, fabulous T shirts. I'm feeling fabulous. Yeah, sober on the front, fabulous in the back. She's seventeen on these arm
Okay, I'm not making them, though I've seen the process. I do need a new heat press, though, so let's think at the business cards ordered. Then my next objective is to get a new heat press. So we'll do that and we'll have some fabulous shirts. Now, who's who's gonna set? Is just gonna sell those too? Sure, he's kind of tried to sell at least two of them, two of them today. He gives them to everybody, gives a ride to Hey, have a fabulous day,
throws some shirt, winks at him. Does that that wink from the movie that we're gonna or not not a movie, but the little sketch we put on short film. Yeah, it'll be released about a week or so. Oh that was fabulous. You can't tell me he wasn't the funniest guy in that. I don't know. You guys are all really good, but Justin's look was so funny. And yeah, I think he dropped a couple of fabulouses in there. Oh yeah, that's where I'm getting it from. Really
was that? I mean there was like five to seven fabulouses. I think I covered them about too. Well, that's good. I'm glad, glad. We're having fun today. But you know, our web pages did get a makeover. We were kind of thinking about it today and it's just like, look, man, there's different ways that we can reach people and connect with people in one of them, you know, as our website and through
social media. So Adam Stevens was like, yeah, you know, I need to actually get back on Facebook and start doing that kind of stuff again.
And we're gonna record like just short little clips of people introducing themselves and the meetings that they host here at the two seventeen Recovery Center, because some of the meetings, like the meetings that we have here and that the community is putting on, they're not my meetings, but the people that have them, they pick whatever they want, you know, as their meeting, meaning like they don't they're not picking an a stuff like that. They're picking like
different pathways. And Mitch Years is spiritual and justin years is living in early recovery, and there's a smart Recovery meeting Norms. I think Norm's gonna be in podcast on Tuesday. Awesome is his search for serenity, and I kind of pitched it to him as like, hey, you know, I want you maybe do this video because I know some people don't want their name and face out there. You know. I think everybody though that has meetings is all about it, you know, like nobody's like trying to be like,
oh no, I'm not in recovery. Don't look at me. We're all out there going No, we're in recovery. Like look at us, you know, like we're doing good and you can too, right, And I think it's cool because our meeting program has been a big success, but Norm's killing it big time. Yeah yeah, yes, I'm proud of him. And you could just see the passion that he has for it too. Oh yeah, and I noticed that you were in the other other day with him
for quite a while. Social relationship all twelve of us. Oh yeah, it's too many, No, but all joking aside. He um, he's doing good, you know, and doing great, And like I said, the passion really kind of comes out of him, and that's what inspires us, you know, like Justin's got a few years. I got a few years, Martie's got a few years. You've got a couple of years.
But when you see those new guys come in and they have that passion and you see it start to click with them, and that's that's amazing, you know, And that's why I kind of do what I do, and I think this is what you guys do what you do as well. You know, it's it's seeing those guys make it and then they're sharing that with other people and then other people. You know, it's just like a like a wildfire in California just keeps spreading it does it's fabulous, fabulous. I was
waiting for Justin to say, but he just agreed. Should the fabulous shirts be more than the sober shirts? They might have to be. You know, it would be really fabulous, as if you got like a two for one special. Ooh, you're soberly fabulous, soberly fabulous, any one buy shirt litter? Well, okay, so here's here's a here's a question for
you, Mitch and Justin. You can answer after Mitch does, which shirt would sell quicker a shirt they had Justin's face on it that said fabulous, or shirt with Justin's face on it that said want to buy a shirt? Like if you only had ten dollars, which one would you buy? Wait? His face was on both. It could be on both. Yes, they're both the same. I guess I'd have to say, do you want to buy a shirt by T shirt? You shouldn't be sure T shirt. I can't. We'll have to go back and listen to it. I can
pull it up, actually right now. It might take me a singing. Oh no, I can't because I'm on the I'm pretty sure it's you want to buy a shirt? Oh man, So the next people, let's sign up at two seventeen recovery dot com slash contest to win a shirt. We'll get a want to buy a want to buy a shirt shirt, and then I'll put I know, because that means I have to work and do. Let's say I was gonna put a QR code on the back of the shirt where people can scan it. It'll take them to our store where they can
buy a shirt. But then I, oh, I'm gonna weed it anyway. Yeah, that is true. You just gotta press them. We just need new press. But still I have to put it up on the website and put a shirt link on there and people can buy it. I mean it's really not that hard, but just too busy making just and page. It looks really nice. Well, thanks man, I really appreciate it.
Yeah, we did a little photography work today and like, just I don't know, sometimes it's easier than what it seems to be, you know, like because you've been with me, Justin Rump setting up like lights and all
kinds of dumb stuff and yeah, like green screen. Yeah, and like it doesn't always have to be that way, you know, Like we took some really good pictures today and yeah, I had one light because we didn't need I mean, that's a photography, you know, it's about lighting and stuff too, So it wasn't the light that I wanted, but we kind of made it work. So I think it looks pretty cool. So yeah, get a chance check out Justin's page at two seventeen recovery dot com.
Slash Justin Now, I always say slash and most people say forward slash, but you think of what I'm talking about. I think it's pretty common to use a forward slash. But yeah, but I mean just to say slash like the guitar player. I was just thinking that that's fabulous. Yeah. Yeah, anyway, check out justin Space And Mitch, I don't know if you've done this yet, but you have a blog on your page. I was trying to write it when you pulled me into this. Hm, okay,
don't let us stop you man. Just you can write and talk and hold a microphone sometime. But what is your first blog going to be about? It's gonna be a h expanded story. I kind of set it up like the like the starting line of a race, and I'm just gonna do like my bio on the website, but then just a little bit more more detail. Yeah. I think it's it's a tool that we can use, hey, to help ourselves, and you know, to kind of let other people realize that who's here? No one? Who just left? Marny?
What the hell? Man cut five o'clock. I guess you're supposed to stop her for an exit interview. Yeah, she should have asked her if she wanted to buy a shirt. That's just a fabulous day. Oh man. Not everybody can do it. Not everybody can do it. Justin. Nope, sit still. But Justin did a blog already today too, knock that out of the park. And that's again on his page. And so those are some of the new things that you're gonna find at two seventeen recovery dot
com. And I'll put them as soon as I can on our app as well. But you can get there either way through the app just by going to the website, so it's not not too bad. Nice. Well you guys, um, you're officially not getting paid now, so I have to let you leave. But thanks to finish my blog. Oh yeah you do. But thanks for jumping on and trying this super awesome podcast out where Justin
and I are in the studio and Mitch you're out in the lobby. Yeah, and we have like more wireless so maybe next time we'll give Marnie or Adam a microphone and they can be in their offices and we'll have like this crazy podcast going on. Yeah that's what I'm talking to. Cross your fingers like a five way fabulous yeah, four way. Anyway, Thanks guys, I appreciate your time, and we'll talk again. Let's to say Wednesday,
We'll do maybe Fridays. Thanks for listening to the two seventeen Recovery podcast, We hope you come back for our next episode.
