All track and check wall two. This is the two seventeen Recovery podcast with Corey Winfield, who knows as soon as he gives it to her, he's gonna give her his heart to her too, and we'll have kids and get married. That's too far. It is the seventeenth of May twenty twenty four. My name is Cory Winfield and this is the two seventeen Recovery podcast coming from the North Studio and joined by Marnie Winfield. Hi there, justin Burke,

what's up? And Mitchell O'Brien fabulous. I always said like it's an Irish festival. Oh yes, and sometimes I'll add the tea. I spoke like this most of the day, Mitchell O'Briant, it's in the house. No, how's there my doing? We're recovering from U fam rally. Yeah, it was an exciting day. Yeah, he's exciting. What was the most exciting part for everybody? Let's start with you, Marty. Most exciting part of yesterday. Oh that's a given. That's just was being able to

watch you host. That was amazing man, Mitchell. I'm serious, it's a big deal. I felt I felt special, Mitchell, which was yours. I mean mine's pretty similar. But a lot of times we'd get to people would come up and ask us questions about it, and they so, who's this guy like on your card or your brochure. I'd be like him

and pointing up to the stage you're talking. They're like, wait, what is Like, Hey, he's our CEO, he's the he started all of this and he's the MC this year, and it was it was really cool a lot of people because they were like, MANE, justin meeting different people this year, like the director mar if I believe I'm pronouncing it right. He came up, how's it spelled? M A R A. I think I don't know? Laura Mara. That's how I call that. So he was director of MARA. M A R R Oh that mean MA? Justin

which one is it? I have to get all up in it? WHOA? All right? So you met the you think you met the director of mar either MAR or MARA, two different organizations anyway, So that was exciting because you were like, which one is it? I don't know. I'm pretty sure it was MAR, which is the Michigan Association of Recovery Residences. And then someone approached us about from the west side of the state, from Ogama County. That was a great conversation as well. Well, maybe we'll

hear all about that later. My excit what I was at the most exciting moment, I guess, well, my mom showed up because she said she was going to be there, and I remember thinking early on like, oh, I don't see Mom, and I'm like, as she probably didn't come, and then I see her kind of come to the side, and it was pretty funny because my friend Kendra was in treatment with the last time.

She comes walking up and she sees my mom and my aunt like by my side, and then it might have been Kim or Justin was taking pictures and so Kenner walks up AND's like what and then like my mom and Anne are like telling me to do stuff or we're like smile or do this or that, and I just look at Kender and I'm like, I don't know fans, you know, my mom, my aunt, And then I told her. But it was kind of funny because the look on her face was like

WHOA, Like what a superstar? But it was pretty funny. But no, just seeing my mom there to support me was pretty cool. You know, the the stuff that she saw and that she went through and had to deal with. And for me to be where I'm at today and then be on that stage, you know, m seeing a recovery event in front of you know, a thousand people, maybe it was pretty cool, man. And that's a that's a moment that I'll remember forever, and I'm sure she

will too. And my aunt was even like, you know, like this is this is awesome and to have that support is it's pretty amazing. And not everybody has that support right in recovery, in early recovery. But yeah, and they kind of hit me too, like five years and I remember thinking it's gonna take a million years to get my one year clean, you know, and it's like, how am I gonna get five years? And

it seems so far away, and it kind of does. Sometimes you're like, hey, five years, Like if you a raised Mitch, you'll be like, damn, it's go take forever. But and then five years you can look back at it all and go, wow, like there's kind of a lot of stuff that went on, and I had to kind of fall Everything had to fall in the right places, and I had to not give up and support from you know, people like Marnie, and she's been in it too, you know, doing everything that she can to help to seventeen

and for us to be where we're at. Where we're at today, it's not where we want to be, you know, but it's a it's a huge even compared to last year, we're at a much better place, you know. And if we can just keep doing that every single day and the rest will take care of itself, you know. So kind of realizing that. I realized all of this when I was in the bathroom peeing. It's the Capitol building. It smelled good in there too. I want to find

out what they use because it smelled it smelled it smelled really good. The state police. That's what it smells like when you have state police there all day. I don't think so it was now something that are pumping through the vending the ventilation system. Well we got one of those now, I know, But I just want to get that scent that they have. Oh anyway, So yeah, I was thinking about that when I was being in there.

It's just like you know, five years ago, like when I remember coming in here and just to be you know, five years later and just like, Wow, things can change, and even though it seems like it's taking forever, it's it's taken the right amount of time. When you look back at it, you're just like, oh, damn. So does it feel like you said earlier that you know, you thought it was gonna it felt like just getting a year was going to be like a million years.

Yeah, But looking back on it, does it feel because to me, I'm three years in this, almost three and a half years into sobriety and recovery, and it does it feels like way longer than that. Yeah, Like not in a bad way, but it does. It feels like there's been like a whole lifetime that happened since I got sober. I want to say something I was just thinking that is because it feels like that the time that we've had that I've had, at least speaking for myself in sobriety,

there's been so much. I've achieved, so many significant things, and there's been so much activity that's been positive, and I've been so aware and awake and present. And so when I think about, like, however many years I was using on and off, they were so dull and empty and sad that it's like, I don't know if I mentally like erased part of it in my head or they were so insignificant in terms of what I accomplished and

what I did that they literally just kind of like meshed into nothingness. Yeah, they've kind of fly by, and you just go by Cason seasons of Survivor you're like, oh, yeah, I barely remember that season and I can't remember that. Yeah, now a new season Survivoral. Okay, cool, it's over. And I don't know, and just think of the stuff we've done. We went to California, I went to Seattle. We've been

to millions of events, it seems like. And it's just like Marnie said, not having that cloud over us and actually being able to remember the things, and it seems like, man, we so much stuff, and it's because you can remember it and you were there and you're present for it, as opposed to just going to work, going home, getting drunk, going to work, coming home getting drunk, or not going to work getting drunk, yeah, losing your job, well, just getting drunk, borrow money

and getting drunk. But now we're actually doing things and it's just, yeah, it seems like it's been a long time, a lot longer than five years. And that's why when you look back and you're like, whoa, yeah, like, hold on, hold the phone here, Like five years isn't a long time, but it feels like it. But if you look back at it, you're like, whoa, Like I did all that in five years? How Yeah, I can't believe it. Like I was just feeling it out, and I think what Martie said is exactly help feels like

to me too. And then I go, it's only been three years. Yeah, that's wild to me, Like I've done this, I've done that. And the thing is it's it's all worth remembering. And I think that's what makes it kind of that catch that both those things, like it seems like it was just a little bit ago, but at the same time, it seems like it's been so long because it's been so great. For sure.

I know. It's kind of like that way with me too, Like I actually remember everything like that's happened to me, like over the past four and a half years, and it's like it can break it up into chunks and actually remember everything. Where before my mom asked me something, I'm like, yeah, I don't really remember that. She was like, what do you mean you don't remember that? Like, I just don't remember it. There's that fog and she just doesn't get it. You know sometimes how much

addiction can affect our memory and everything else. Yeah, not, we don't want it. We don't want to remember. Very true. Yeah, and the people joke about selective memory, but it's a real thing. Yeah, it's a trauma response. And there's some things that we just push out of our head and don't actually file into information to hold onto because it's too painful, and you know, it's how we protect ourselves. Doesn't mean it didn't happen, but yeah, to try to retrieve that sometimes you just don't want

to put the mental effort into it. And also a mental retrieving something too. Your brain can also lie to you and tell you, well know, it happened like this, and they're like, well, that wasn't actually the order of the events, but that's what our brain tells us because we try

to remember it. Yeah. I wonder if that Because there was a guy that recently we all kind of well I didn't come in contact with, but they used to live with them, and so we're living and he was telling this wild ass story about the way things happened, and he's supposed to apparently, if you ask him, he'll tell you he was like a professional snowboarder and just killing it, just crushing it out on the road, and had all these deals and all this money. And then he doesn't you know,

but I don't know. I'm trying to google you, buddy, but it

didn't pop up anything, so I don't know. But the way he tells the story is like even the sober living house that we were in, he was like, yeah, the cops came and raided it or you know, ended up there was a whole scam and they had just went in turned the power on that these people were out of town and this guy just moved in and started renting it out as a sober living None of that shit happened, and the whole boy got kicked out because he started drinking again, you know,

like that's the bottom line. And then he came back all crazy, and then he was talking about two semitudes stole my gloves, and I'm gonna come by the house and I'm gonna hire a guy with tattoos to shoot the place up. And that's what I called the police because I was like, look, this dude's full of shit, but he's gonna learn today. I remember saying that he's gonna learn today. You don't threaten to shoot people on

Facebook. Get a guy with tattoos, come on, dude, like that's I don't know, but again, and I think one of you two might have been. Justin's like wet brain. Yeah, he's got what brain? Man like he really thinks that stuff happened, you know, he doesn't really remember. And it's like, I don't know. Is that why you would threaten somebody with one hundred certain kinds of people. Yeah, yeah, exactly, that's just stupid brain. We'll get a hundred people will beat you up.

Okay. To go back to what Martin, especially a fifteen year old or something, you know, it's go back to what Marty was saying is there was parts in my earlier recovery where I wouldn't remember parts of it, and I would be with my therapist in the recovery program. I would in I would I would in I was in been downstate too long, We've got

lancing brain. I might having heard I would in that therapy, and then she told me, but she'd remind me of things and be like, I don't even remember that happening, and it would like come back to me in

the moment. And she was talking about how you know, when there's traumatic stuff or you're going through a lot, or you're dealing with past traumas, like your brain does it cuts it up and it masks some of it, so you only have to deal with so much of it at a time, and you know the best thing is to, you know, don't let it go, because you know, letting that stay in the shadow is as bad, but you know, let it come up and do time and take care of it as it does. And it was just weird, like the way

our minds work is weird. So just give me an idea. Yeah's well, I think it would be fun to do with mentioned as his son and your your son comes home from school one day and you're just like, whoa buddy, who are you? Change the locks and everything? So he's like beating on the door and you're like, what's up? Look me in, like who are you? And like have his room changed around? Like maybe with like changing into like a woman's room or something. I kind of did

that to him one time. Not with the change in locks in the room around stuff. But I came around the corner one day at home. I think it was a weekend, so it was like in the morning. The first time I sat, I was like, whoa were you got out my house and you have an idea or anything. I was like, there's a strange man in my house, just a school idea. So nothing with this

address on it should get him something. He's get him my ID at the library or something, something has this idea on it, and then you can change it and then we'll get the police involved to So when he comes home and he's like trying to get in and you're like no, and then we call the cops. The cops show up, and then limpsyr id and he whips it out and it's a different address and everything, and he's like, what the hell, It's just a photo of the tent and the pines.

I don't want to try and I'm pretty sure I've already created trauma. He deserves all that, but I don't want to create more because you guys are even but you gotta get back on top. Even Yeah, you just had a lifetime of I mean, it's a little different like there was you know, years of his life, like half of that because he's fourteen and I've been sober for like three and a half years, so that's like more than ten years I was not. And I'd say the second half of that was

really bad, you know, the part that he remembers. Of course, so I think he, uh, he has some some catching up to do if we're going to do the balancing act before I start doing real traumatic things to get back at him. If I was ever going to choose to do that, Dad, I'm only smoking pot because you what you did to me, all the abandonment and now this, Now we're going to the looney bit.

And I don't want to call him looney b because that's not how you need to be more travel informed, I know, sensitive, the mental hospital, compassionate, uh, the behavioral health unit, mental health unit. Yes, Oh I don't know, so yeah, yeah, Dad is just like,

oh my god, what are you doing. No, I'm just thinking about the fact that I got to email the other day about parenting class, like the therapeutic parenting class that's being offered like at where I were at the private practice where I work, and how they use the verbiage or whatever to encourage parents to attend, because it can be a scary thing when you're like, I don't need some therapist telling me how to parent, you know,

But I mean it's important, you know, especially when we've been through what we've been through, or the exposure like you're talking about. You know, in your case, it's like whatever, it's something used, but in some cases it's conflict and domestic conflict, you know, like kids have been exposed to violence or poverty or whatever, and you know, figuring out how to communicate with your children and be a positive and healthy parent. I'm sure it's

a lot. I mean, we're going to find out, but you know, yeah, I think I sent that email to Mitch and justin he did. I was wondering if that was the thing. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the same one. I'm planning on signing up for it. Yeah too, might as well. I got some years I have to take that stuff. You should do it now so that we prepare yourself. Your procrastination procrastination

level is always at a thousand. I like procrastination anymore. Crashination, crastination, that's what it turns into if you procrastinate far enough you like to do a crash. But the words that he makes up actually have you break them apart, like you kind of like, yeah, he could be blasically it's that it works, yeah, because it's not like you just spelling. Because like on one of our shirts, I spelled responsibility wrong on the back because

it was like a fake. It's like a concert shirt. It's like recovery, you know, just like but Justin's case stained and then would have all the cities that it was then, you know, but it said recovery. Then it had like acceptance and blah blah blah. Honest, yeah I left out an eye or something responsibility or I don't know, something like that's obvious, like, oh he left he spelled that wrong. But when you say pro crashed tenation like you're just making it's a new word and it's kind of

a cool one. We're gonna put down the shirt. I kind of like it. But you know, Justin likes to add ours. It's the hard R is his favorite. I wasn't going to go up, well, pro crash to nation got me where I'm at? That should like, but we're going to press one for you today, just in congratulations. If we have anymore, we pressed off our sober sh I think every shirt in here now has sober on it. Well, you know, you could put it on

the back of the soldier. You should don't procrastinate, like because he clearly spelled it correctly. He's not a shirt like he forgot an eye. Pro is like you know, times New Roman and then crash is like a rough one and intonation what does that mean? Bro? Well see what happened, Well, basically Matt Holmes. Yeah, that's kind of when it started.

And we really started picking up on it during Fantasy football, and he started calling my homes Matt Holmes and just wouldn't stop sometimes when I'm saying his name had to stop and go away. Hold on, isn't Mahomes? Yeah? Okay, And I just thought it was a different person because I don't know any of the players. So I'm like, I got my homes was this Mac Holmes was like, I don't even you keep saying he's on my line. I don't got to know Mac Holmes. I can't stand that guy really,

just because his name just in general. Didn't want to pick up golf, like who golf? Golf? Yeah, wait, is that how you say it? Didn't get a phantasy email the other day. It was the player rankings for twenty twenty four. That's what it was. I didn't look at but I was like, am I should I keep this or not? I don't know, it's too far away. Yeah, everything's going to change three months. There'll be a couple more arrust I'm sure for something, and

then they'll go to the Cowboys. Yeah. That Rice guy, man, what an idiot? What an idiot? Right? Rashid Rice that is his name for. He had a really good season last year. It was all right, he was a rookie, did I but Mahomes, mack Holmes does something? Call him? He didn't have the receivers and Tyreek Hill left and he's just losing his mind and he's like, I don't trust these guys are on the right route when I do throw it to him and I'll catch it.

It's just ah. It's like at the end of the year they went and got Hardman back and he's not the greatest eiler and mac Holmes was just like, I'm tired of this. So then they drafted this Rice guy and he did all right. I think he might've kind a touchdown Super Bowl or something. I can't remember. But then he was down in Dallas racing his buddy that they rented this Lamborghini for like two thousand dollars a day. He was like eighteen hundred something like that, and he rented it for like two

months. Do the math on that. And he's a rookie, so he's not making that kind of cheddar to where he could be doing that instead have money in ten years when he's out of the NFL. But he's just whatever. But he's raising his buddy and they caused this huge crash and they've found him and was like this was you and they're gonna charge him. And so he hasn't even went to court on that yet. And then he gets into an altercation in Dallas at a club. Is that life getting to him?

Dude, you got a little taste of the good life. I haven't looked, but I would assume the Chiefs cut him. But see, and this is the thing, because they cut cream Hunt when that chick was like following him. And I'm not saying it's okay to use violence, but like the

chick was like hit him with a shoe or something. And he like punched her, but he was like trying to leave this event or something, and she was like, you owe me money for child's boor or whatever she was saying, and he finally was like, ah, dude, he punched her, you know, and that's just not acceptable. And it was on camera so that the Chiefs cut him immediately. Boom, not on our team. But if you're causing accidents, like some people were injured severely, and you

don't cut him after that, and then he gets into another altercation. So if they haven't cut him by now, I don't even know, but I'm sure Jerry Jones is like, oh, this is great. We love them criminals on my team. You know. He was just gonna say that too,

because I was watched the Cowboys pick them up. There was like one guy and I don't want to say a name because I don't think I have it right, but he beat up this woman like and threw her on this couch and started beating her up, and it was a couch they hit like all this guns laid out on. Yeah, and they signed that guy and they're like, that's the kind of guy I want on my team. It sounds real. Texas thing to do. I want me some gloryhole. I

need that drop from Jerry Jones because he's out there. If you look it up on YouTube, Jerry Jones glory whole. I want me some glory hole. I think I played it for I've heard it. Yeah, won't me s gloryhole? Just keep saying it, saying it one more time. He didn't know what it meant, or maybe he did. I don't know. Oh, I think he definitely knew what it meant. The cowboys in the nineties were pretty wild. Hell, he was pretty wild. Had the child

he's just gut. Yeah, he was ordered to take a eternity test because he denied it, even though he bought her like a land Rover for a sixteenth birthday party, gave the mom like two million Just shut up. We went into some pretty interesting ground. Yeah, so you fam was pretty fun. Back to recovery right here we are. So, what was the craziest thing you guys seen. I'd probably say the woman in the nikes that was trying to beg for some change. Mh she was in some nikes. Yeah,

three hundred dollars nikes naked. No, No, you've seen her too. Yeah, we all three of us did. Yeah, I was the furthest away. But her opening line is what what got me glad to say it? And it walks up to our group of people and goes with their arms out. I'm not high, but I was like, no, it goes hi, I'm that's how you start conversations. She just wanted to cut to the chase. I think it was more so it was she was panhandling, and she just figured it's a numbers game, right, well, this

is the best place to do it. Were close to the sidewalk. Had nothing to do with I mean, other than the fact she knew what obviously the the rally was about. So she just promised it with if I'm going to ask for money, it probably should let these people know it's not for drugs, or sympathize for me because I'm not high and I need to be high. It was really it was really odd. It was not It was kind of how old was she, I don't know, early thirties maybe,

yeah, thirty something. She looked like shoes up from the streets or those shoes were looking awful plane for the streets. Yeah, just looking at normal, you know, so clean and I don't know The thing that took me off for the most were the picketers. Yeah that was new this year too. I think it didn't happen last year. Oh behind us, Yeah, with the megaphones. You're up there doing your thing, people doing their their

presentations and stuff. Brother Earth band, which for some reason I just yesterday that just clicked. What that meant is their name and like the play on words there, which I just think I was like walking by the stag or you know. I was like, oh, that's actually kind of funny. But no, Yeah, there was a small group of people walking up and down the sidewalk with the megaphone and signs, and they didn't like Brother Earth.

No, I had nothing to do with anything. It had nothing to do even with substance use disorder at all or even what the rally was even about. They were picketing and protesting about solitary confinement in prison. And is

that the people where they kicked you out of your parking spot? Yeah, And I almost told her, well, there's no reserve spot here, and I almost just parked her anyways, But yeah, I was trying to be a good person that they I didn't want my day to start off bad or tired to get slash well, and I assumed because I pulled up behind you, I assumed, you know, Corey parked up front. He's the MC. Yeah, I got it. And then you parked up front and there

was no other place to park. So I was assuming in my head that Corey went, no, Mitch has a chevy full of all this stuff, let him park here. But as I'm rolling by, I see this lady in there sort of the car, screaming like we reserved these spots months ago, and I don't even think that's a thing. But so what I did see on the other side were like sober af people were at They had a

bunch of reserve parking signs out there that they put out there themselves. Anybody can we could make up buy some print out some signs reserves that next year. But yeah, but there were there was the people that were there for honey, give me look under that sheep, Michigan Department of Corrections, Recovery Coaching. No, it's like the one of the first people that are supposed to speak on there. That was the Recovery Citizens for Reform. Yeah,

that's who it was. So that's who. So they were part of it, but they just didn't really look like it because they were more about, you know, I'm all about prison reform and stuff and get more help for those people. But at the same time, if you're in solitary confinement, how many people did you kill? Well? And just past that, why are you on a megaphone going up and down the street trying to take the attention away from the speakers They you know, no, I gotta justify something

real quick, because I did mess up. So he I was told that no, no, no, they are. They weren't a part of it, but they gave him a spot to speak because they were trying to say that they had that day too for the lawn and you families like na eat in it. You can do yours whenever the next day, but we have that that day, and we'll do you a solidary if you want, We'll let you jump up there and speak, okay. And then I think they didn't even show up for that until later. And then they were in the

sidewalk trying to overpower the sound or something like. It was very it was distracting, and it was like they weren't interested in any of what the whole rally was about. It was kind of and then they brought like two tons up and set it right up. I saw the Newspeople talking to them and they probably thought, Wow, you guys did all this, and they were probably acting like, yep, this is all of our people here for prison reform. No, that was that was MD that was the Michigan Department of

Correction. That's different. They were different. They were part of the rally. But yeah, and there was a couple of people that didn't show up. I think, right, yeah, there's some people that just didn't show up at all. And then there was other people who were like, oh, I can't do it because they're there, but we can do it later. And there was a lot of juggling. And one lady Ruthie Bolton, who's the WU and to be a which just says w M be a Hall

of Famer. I know she's a gold medalist. She apparently was on a plane or something and it got held up by air. Oh yeah, and breaks or something. I don't know it was. She didn't make it. Her fight didn't come in, so but they knew about that. But yeah, other people just were like, yeah, I'll be there, I'll be there, I'll be there and then ghost where they might have told somebody around the way that yeah, I'm not gonna be there, but there was a

space for them, and so that that kind of throws everything off. You know. That's very disrespectful, in my opinion, very disrespectful to the MC and to the event itself, because they plan this stuff out, you know, like, Okay, we'll give this person, you know, five minutes, this person fifteen minutes, and they talked to him beforehand, because I'd

asked Christian, I'm like, how do you determine all this? He's like, well, we'll talk to him, and they say, you know, fifteen minutes is great, you know, and I could probably go twenty okay, cool, And then some of them would say that and they would get up there. And then you've probably noticed. I heard that someone at our tent noticed when the MC didn't jump back up on stage immediately, it's because

the person that was supposed to talk for fifteen minutes talk for two. So the MC's like, I got fifteen minutes, let me go over here. And then you get off stage and then somebody's just talking to you, you know, your superstar and all, and then the person you look over and the person's coming down the steps already. You're like, that was two minutes. They're like, that's all I have to say about that. I heard

a comment that says, who's MC in this? Boo? Yeah, I heard that same thing all the way up from the from the stage, and wow, that was my That was an adorable, lovely comment comment. It was. I did add to it and say we're going to get our own megaphones this year there next year and be like get them, who's them? It was after you said all these so sweet things about me on stage, so it was supposed to be funny or some really loud speakers with cricket sounds.

There's nobody up there cricket, cricket, cricket, cricket, But it was pretty cool. And then people would do the share your recovery date. I didn't see any of you. I didn't see any of the people with us that went up there to do it, Like I thought that was Cory and Kim did Yeah, Corey did it? Carrie did it? Carrie did it? Didn't Kim do it too? Yeah? Maybe rewind what I just said. Kim did it, Corey did it, Carrie did it? I should have did it too, Jim, and yeah, that's Marty. Because

Marty's like sitting up there. I'm like, hey, you're gonna get up there and do it. And she said nope, she said, I'm different. No I didn't. I'm uncomfortable. There was a bathroom because I'm too cool for this. Definitely now that i was man in the tent talking to people about two seventeen recovery as well, so what we do? You know, there was one of those one person, I guess you could say one situation that did make me very uncomfortable yesterday is when we were doing the recovery

date. Like people will come up up on stage, they'd say their name, the recovery date, and then they would they would leave. Most of the people were pretty cool. They were excited and get up there, you know, and we got to put ourselves on the back every once in a while and just to get up there and say your name like that means something. And the guy gets up there and he's like, ah, my name's Blob or whatever. He said, his name was my recovery days right now

today. Yeah, And that's when I got the scent of alcohol on them. And he came up from the side stage, and then he decided he was going to and the steps a little tricky and it was hot, the sun was beating down. They had like these white stairs and they all look the same, like I almost fell down at once, and I was like, well, tell people be careful of them steps, and he just starts. After he says that, he starts going down the steps and I'm like

maybe not okay, never all right. It just made me uncomfortable because I thought he was gonna just face plant like where they because I had the call the carnations like up on the steps in remembrance of people, and I'm like, he's walking to walk on them trip and fall. Yeah, he did it. Though. The one thing is, though, I think that if that was going to happen at anytime, then probably we are the most forgiving crowd to have that happen in front of it. And it's not that I

was madder like anything about him being drunk whatever, whatever. I just did not want him to fall. And I'm just like, oh, no, is this really going to happen right now? Like well, and if he fell, those are concrete, Yeah, it's not going to be a pleasant experience. Yeah, that's true, but you know, we've been desensitized to stairs and falling now for the like the past three years. At least I did it whip up my phone and be like, come on, buddy.

At least I didn't do that then, because yeah, that didn't even cross my mind. So after I realized they were doing that, which was towards the end of them, you guys doing that, I was like, maybe I should go up there, but I almost thought maybe it a little disrespectful for me personally, because what am I gonna do? I know, the very near time, do I pick a day? I don't know the exact date? Some people said months, Okay, it was November of twenty seventeen.

Not everybody remembers the exact day. Yeah, I do, because I was handcuffed to a bed in the hospital. Was so crazy, and even I messed it up. I was like, November or No, twelve, Yeah, twelve fifteen. This is my wedding Date's twelve twelve, which is confusing for me too because it'll be twelve fifty. Wait, twelve twelve. It's harder than you think. When you get up there and you get a microphone in your hand, you gotta remember numbers and stuff. It's like,

oh yeah, every remember in mind because it was Dane was arrested. Nice Marnie doesn't really remember. Hers remember in the mail every year. It's like, it's so weird. August right end of August thirtieth. It's like, if I had to choose one, i'd probably I think it was around It was right around January third, so it could have been the second, could

have been the fourth, but January third rings in my head. But I just I don't know for sure because for a while I thought it was January, like in the middle of January, like the fifteenth or the seventeenth or something like that. So I was always going with my son's birthday because it's the twenty second, so I was like, no, matter what, that's

after that, so I'll know for sure. But then I had some Facebook memory pop up one year and it talked about me going into my recovery program and that was on January third, and I know that my sobriety date was before I went into my recovery program, so it's like early January, and I just was I didn't know when I didn't know people were doing months maybe I'll do that next year, hop up there. Yeah, so maybe we

should do that at Recovery Stories Part three. That'd be cool. So absolutely everybody in the audience attack on an extra thirty minutes programming just passing around there you go, that's a great idea, but now passing out in the middle of it with the microphone. You know how they do question and answers like don't stuff, don't procrastinate with me? Yeah, I don't want to know procrastination here. Basically what we're about to do do We're not going to be

procrastinating and throw it to you like make Holmes. I've had my spanter today, go que picking on people justin I'm going home. I have good, big deal. You haven't. Sometimes a little bit, but I have a lot. I was spoken to. Good, good job, Marney. How do you know it's me? Well, we're gonna have pictures up at seventeen recovery dot Com. Probably maybe a little video or something too, from our time at the UFAM rally and probably the day before and the little trip up

we're over, yeah, Lancing and back. So look for that to seventeen recovery dot Com. I believe it was down to Lancing over. So yeah, look for that and our fishing event is June eighth. That's I guess the next thing on our sign up online beyond Mitch's team ten to eleven am team justin nine were we doing picnic after? Did it? Is that? What it says is that going to be at the same location as where we're

all fishing at. So what is the location at? So we talked about Sunset Park, okay, and I kept saying I was gonna go check it out, and then I kept forgetting and I did check it out this morning. They have multiple picnic tables. There's not a pavilion, but there are like five or six picnic tables that you can move around. There are three if we want to do grilling, there are three charcoal grills, those like stationary ones all right, hot dogs and potato chips. And it's accessible with

the construction. You go down that side road right where McDonald's and TBA Credit Union is. It's directly across you can get there. Okay, So that's where we're going to have it. Okay park, there's a pier, there's the beach. I think it'll be great. Yeah, if you need to poll you want all that sign up to be on our team. Otherwise, if you want to just come out, you can do that too. It's June eighth. We'll be out there about eight am. It's out there till

noonish, we'll be gone. So if you come at like twelve thirty, don't expect to see us. Well we could be there, you never know. Yeah, the picnic that's eleven ish. Yeah, you've got to warm up that charcoal though, we can do that. Start that, get that that stuff that's soaked in like what's it called ready light or yeah, it's

it's the easiest stuff to do those events with. Well, it's because it's free fishing weekend in Michigan that weekend, so June eighth is the Saturday, So up, come on out, have some fun travels citing on there and get fish and eating bringing Parker good. Oh I don't think i'll be there, baby said, Oh no, corries corries from eight to nine. Oh yeah, and you said you're going fish with a drone? Yeah, seen

it fishing? No, I caught fish like catch fish actually like found fit like a fish not fish finder, but like should actually see the fish with the drone, big gass fish make sharks. I was up in the air able to see it from how far up were you from? Miles from the water. I know you're a big fish high it's probably samon. No, it's probably no stid sharks. We don't have there on the bastard, you know, because we don't answer just bull sharks in the Great Lakes that came

up the Mississippi to the Ohio River integrate to Lake Michigan. As I have seen any d n R out there with tags tagging them, so you don't know what they were. It could be sharks. We're gonna have a DNA officer so we can be like, what's that one? What's that one? Just fry them all up, throw them on the grill. Here you go. And I heard Kim knows how to clean fish, so a fish clean station. Yeah, thank you. Back to soliciting for teams Mitch and be

on his team. Yep. Why because we're gonna have the most fun, our peaceful, tranquil and serenity filled attitude towards it is going to just bring the fish into the area so we can catch them. But you just them, what about me? Yeah, it's your time to tell people sign up to being your team. You can look at my pictures online. I know how to fish. Okay, you can sign up on my team if you don't want to get dirty. But yeah, I'm not technology to catch your

fish. I'm not going to bait your hook take your fish off. Like you gotta be somewhat self productive. You can bait our hooks. No, take our fish off. Somebody's gotta do it. Might as well just be fishing with no worms. But at least we'll know where the fish are at, will lead at and get these little what are they? Is it like fish? Eggs? Fish? So you don't have to use the worms? Spawn? Yeah, a little spawn. Just put a hot dog on there,

probably work, Probably would catfish loves chicken. Chicken. You cut it up and you toss it out the stunt trum and I'm trying to do that well time. It is a little pond up north used bread. You take white bread, tear off a piece, put it on the hook and like squish it and you put it down there and down this like bridge where there's a bunch of fish and they just take it right up. I think that the worms are like a it's an old way like farmers wanted to ship dug

up for them, and they're like, little Teddy. Watch this we get little teddy. You know them fish love what unk? They love? Worms? Where I find worms? Well, see that field over there, just start digging it up. There's worms where. Okay, they tell your friends to get all the worms out of there, and you can actually put them in a little box and sell them to all your friends and tell them that that's what the magic of catching fishes all about. And then we just ran

with it and then it just spread like wildfire. That's where Walts crawlers came from. His Walts grandfather. Make them ended up fish. They're buying this. This is a good scam fish around anymore by Walt's crawlers all over the place. They don't have like a shop anymore. But I bet you I'm not too far off, probably because we've seen the tools to catch worms.

For there's this thing you put on the ground and it has like it's ribbed on the side of it, and you rub something or down it, like slide it down it and it makes us vibrate like a like that, and then the vibration makes the worms come up. They's supposed to simulate what they're like rain drops, because you know how worms come out when it rains. It's supposed to make them think that it's like raining or something, and then they come up to the surface and pick them up. And we can't cure

cancer. And they used to use like electricity to shock the ground like electrical strikes. It's barbaric, isn't it true? If you cut them in half, they become two worms? I think so certain worms. Yeah, we can't cure cancer, but we can cut worms in half make them two because worms have like several different hearts. Okay, so how long before you get turned it into four like or eight? You know what I'm saying, Like, you take one cut in a half, Now you got two worms.

Okay, So they does they heel up or they just die? Like? How's that? How's that work? M justin new for masturbateer over there. That's a good question because if you're talking about like how well I think, I don't think. Is there like a front and back to a worm? Yes? Okay, So then when he's talking about like hearing things, they don't have ears. They can just sense vibration like their bodies are just one thing. Like the show Tremors. Yeah, what one end of the worm's

flat? One end is like really pointy, but I don't remember which one was ahead and which ones no, thank you? So how does it become two different worms? Then? This that's what my question. I always wondered that too, because it's like they're supposed to have five hearts or something like that. As long as you cut it off and there's a heart in one section, then that'll become another worm. But it's like, how do you are that they are all the hearts like evenly placed down the worm? Or

are they all in one part of it? Because if you chop it off without heart in it. I should know this because it seems like that was the one thing that we did in our like first like earth science classes dissect to earthworm and I don't know anything about it, but I think they had a lot of hearts for some reason. Double digits about that. They're like one of those simplest like why did a little untestin? Why didn't they don't seem simple? Why did God put them on the earth? Eat trash?

It is to kind of to fertilize soil, So maybe decomposition potion that's the shirt too. Composion, This is kind of this is decomposion and pro crash donation or do different things. Decomposion is a Colonne Earth Friendly cologne. Oh yeah, organic, yeah, organic with green. Maybe that's what the Earth's problem is is we got too many fishermen out there. Decompos number nine.

Yeah, because God never intended us to use worms to fish. It was like I never planned on Walt doing that crazy ass I did with this grandkids and stuff. What are you guys doing with my my dirt? Decomposioners, Is anybody watching worms the worm count on the Earth to make sure that this is still a thing, because that's probably what's causing the whole zone. Micro did dirty jobs with worms. You see amazon rainforest earthworms, Amazonian earthworms.

So they look just like the ones that come out here. They look exactly the same as the ones that you'll find on the sidewalk here. What but they're this big a round well he's doing about a three inch something and they're like inch diameter huge. They're the same color, the same shape. There's nothing special about them. They're an earthworm. But there it's like you're on and you buy them, throw them in a neighbor's yard. I guess to

get the miller's to the Amazon rainforests. They live down there and do their thing, and I don't even like it's not regular size one, so no thank you. Just people holding them up like this like they caught a fish and they're like draped over them because they're massive. You have to hold them with both hands because they're big. It's probabe tech Nugent's not all over that, like, here's where I keep my mule deer. Here's where I keep

mobile Amazon worms, Amazonian earthworms. That's how you catch that fish that got Kim's husband. Yeah, fish in peace, all right anyway, Yeah, fishing event. If you don't have a poll, want to be on a team, even if you have a pole, you want to be in your team whatever. You can sign up at two seventeen recovery dot com under contest. Oh, Justin's going to play the whole advertisement and everything. At the very bottom, it'll say whose team do you want to be on? And

you can type in like one woman did Shannon. Anybody. You can type in Corey, you can type in Mitch. You can type in Mitchell. You can type in justin whatever you can type in like Steve or you know, Christopher. But you're all welcome whenever. Whenever you come, there'll be somebody there to Yeah. Yeah. And then the reason why we're doing we have a limited number of fishing poles and that's why we kind of did the

team's thing. Yeah yeah. But if you're like, no, I really want to, I can only get out there because I have to work at noon or whatever. You know, like, you can come earlier and we'll figure out so than for you. Many almost threw up. That's gross. Snake. It's a worm. Itch wasn't lying about four f long. I've seen bigger pictures of them, but trying to order one just they'll take payments, just like that. He likes payments. I'm going I would, I

would. I would hold a snake before I hold hold of worm. Yeah. I never as a kid like frog. If it was slimy, no thanks. Yeah, but snakes that was good with because they weren't. Turtles are cool because you know they dry up you hold them, and they're not slimy frogs. No, slimy fish. I'm good with fish now, but you have to hold a special because they're either gonna bite you or sticky with

their you know, pointy little fins. Worms. Salimanders were cool because you know, they were kind of slimy, but they're so small you can't even feeling in your hands. Well, yeah, we used to catch snakes and stuff, but I don't do snakes. I'll do I'll book snakes, but yeah, I'm all about chopping their heads off. I almost got beat up by this kid for snoring. But I was like four times the size, so I mean, yeah, because I wouldn't take his fish off his hook

for him, and then he put the other one back to that. Yeah, I used to catch snakes and stuff. Like. It'll be a bragging montage if you don't turn into oh wow, that is huge, into a drop. We're very disappointed. I'm sure there's so many that we just missed. Yeah, oh there's a lot. I think we have plans in twenty twenty five to just mike this whole building because we do so many on average we'll be like, wow, I wish it was recording right, Well good,

yeah, and then and then we're having fun in recovery. Man. Yeah, that's all we're doing. That's all we're doing. But come out and fish with us, you know it'd be great. And then more on Recovery Stories Part three coming soon later and so look for that. But yeah, the fishing thing is next and we got to turn our attention to that now that you fans over and there'll be some videos coming soon to help promote

it. It's fun. But anyway, thanks for listening and we will talk to you again at the time of our choosing every great weekend everyone later.
