This is the two seventeen Recovery podcast with Corey Winfield. I think that's pretty fair for a guy once a quarter, four times a year trim chone nails. If it needs to be done, it needs to be done. I'll thank you that you can go buy the calendar year. You probably wish I would because I probably maybe really do it like twice a year. And Cole

holes Marney Winfield the people that really are drawn to twelve step program. One piece of those twelve step groups is because it's people from all different varieties in lengths of time of sobriety. Good morning. It is the twenty third of June twenty twenty three. My name is Cory Winfield, my name's Marny Winfield, and this is the two seventeen Recovery podcast up in early today morning. Everybody, you've done a podcast all week. People have been blowing me up,

like, Yo, where's the podcast below? Yeah, this is my mom, So here you go, Mom, here's a podcast. That's my mom. She's like, I'm not gonna hear that till later. I'm sleep. But no, I wanted. I wanted to do something that's never been done in Northern Michigan podcasting. What's that? I want to do a podcast from three locations today? Oh this is I mean, sit down. If you're sitting down, stand up because you got to change because you're just gonna

be like what did he just say? Yeah, world records in Michigan, Northern Michigan. But it's a world record the world. You think it would just be in Michigan, it's not. It's a world record. I think you can do it. I believe in you. Yeah, I mean it's something I've always wanted to do, like back when I was in radio. Yeah, since like I don't know seven h five this morning, but I've first heard of podcasting at iHeart Medium and they're like, everybody needs to put

a podcast on your on your web page. And I'm like, wow, I don't want to, Like we got paid to talk, and then that's the last thing we wanted to do, right, But if they were again, that's just like anything in life, and it's just first maybe advice this one can take when they're talking to somebody who's not wanting to admit to being

having a problem with substances is you let them make it their idea. And of course that goes back to like the Bible days where they were like, hey, if you don't get your corn out of there, and we're gonna kill you because the devil's coming or whatever they said. But my point is, though, if they just would have said, we'll pay you a thousand dollars to people who do that, I've been like, all right, let's do it. Instead, they're like two of them on your page a week,

and we'd be like, oh right. Trying to run a radio station. Yeah, if the desire doesn't come from within you, then M doesn't mean. It doesn't mean very much. Yeah, it's that desire. Speaking of radio and friends and problems. Buddy of mine called me, well, this other guy we worked with, I guess this sounds some hard times, M sound like it. That sounded really bad, and it made me just feel grateful that I survived those times. And I guess the guy's not doing

what he's promised to people after they've given him money. There's nothing to do with sex either. It's like other professional stuff. And I told Ron that because Ron was the friend who called me. He takes pride in what he does, you know, and I do as well. And I couldn't imagine having somebody paying me for something and then just not show up, like that

would crush me, and that would send me. And maybe the first time it was he got drunk and just didn't wake up, and it was I don't know, I don't know how you come back from that, Like well, I mean, I think this is a perfect example of when people get, you know, deep into their addiction. You know, we make we make poor decisions and be able to do whatever we need to get that to

keep things going, to keep feeding or drinking or drugging. And for some people they shoplift, you know, or some people you know, to swindle people. You know that that's could be a version of that. It's like I'll just if I can get money in my pocket, you know, for the things that I need to keep making my world go around like nothing's a problem. I'll deal with the consequences later or hope that this this flies you know. Yeah, And who knows, maybe that's the case. Maybe he's

swindling them. I think that he just can't stop and he can't pull together, so he's trying to make decisions and make commitments as if he's going to with the intention. Yeah, that things are going to get down and they just haven't. Yeah, and I think it's a little bit more honorable. Yeah, and maybe he missed the first one, you know, like I said, maybe he I was like, I'll just drink and you've probably done

this too. I'm gonna be there at seven. Well, I'll just drink, tell noon, take a little nap, I'll get up at six. I'll be there. And then you wake up at nine pm and you're like, oh, or you just don't stop drinking and you don't well. And that usually goes hand in hand with that too, because all noon and I'll stop drinking. That's two, and then it's three and all use like a real quick hour, and then you wake up into nine and you missed the

whole thing and you're like, oh my god. Yeah, but getting fired from my job and not finishing something that you've already been paid to his company. Yeah, But I'm just saying like, maybe he was in that way of drinking and he planned it out poorly, and yeah, missed and missed the gig and then you're just like, oh my god, I mean how you come back from that? Normal person would probably call apologize, apologize,

give the people their money back. But when you're active addiction, the best thing to do is to keep drinking, because then you forget and then you get that effort and who cares anyway? Whatever, man, Yeah, so you in court. You know, I'll pay you eventually and it'll turn around and like you said, worry about that later. And then they just start snowballing and then there's more people like I guess they're leaving stuff on his Facebook

page. Even then it's just like dang, like his business page. It's like and that just highlights the whole Burning bridges is what we do in our active addiction. Yeah, and Ron when he called, he was like, yeah, I feel bad for the guy. He needs help, but we don't really know what to do. And it's like unless he has that desire, you know, And that's the hard part of it as well, because the alcohol will trick your brain and he might be in give up mot already.

I was there before. Yeah, it's like, well, I'll just drink this bottle and the doctor say if I drinking and I could die, maybe this will be it. Then family won't have to worry about me anymore. Everything will be good. I'll be out of here, which it was the alcohol making me feel that way, making me think that way, because no, I didn't want to one h man, you know, And I'm

really happy with life today and I'm happy where I landed. And it wasn't easy, but I'm glad that I hit all the branches on the way down. I really felt that lots of branches. Yeah, and it makes what I do today and who I talked to today and how I talk to people today like makes sense and it's worth it. But I didn't have to go through all that struggle. I'm not saying that people that don't have to go

through that struggle can't relate at all what I'm saying. Yeah, but just for me to be doing what I'm doing, you know, it's like I have to do this otherwise it wasn't gonna work. So it's a little different. But yeah, So my world record, though, I'm setting. So now you're really doing what you're supposed to be doing. Tis times three just in three locations. I mean, it's supposed to get through podcasts a week, you just get them on one day, maybe a bonus one Manana tomorrow

for you American people speaking that in Glace. Now we're going to Well, first of all, there's a word in the dictionary for you and I especially you lately. What's that busy M efforts? I think it's in there. Yeah, kind an on WORDLD. But yeah, it's it's in there. Yeah, you know it's it's There were days, but there were days where there was no way I could have even like function to get one thing done.

And now I'm multitasking with like all these different things that are that are all beneficial and all part of of me celebrating with who I am today. And I mean I could give you a list, but we would be on here way longer than then we want. But what I'm kind of working on. But no, it's great and it's a gift and I'm blessed. And

um I get I did. I lost my stepfather, you know, in the past few months, and so we are having a celebration of life today and um I feel his presence like he was a good positive person in my life. Um I can't say enough nice things about his kindness and patience and you know he led an extremely good, successful, you know, full life.

And um so we have the opportunity today to spend time with my family, your family now and be able to kind of talk briefly about you know, those things, his attributes and his personality and the gifts that he's given all of us individually. So I'm not I'm not sad like I'm I'm I feel okay, like you would think that, you know, on days of if you want to call this a funeral, I guess you could, but

it's not. It's a celebration of his life. So yeah, there'll be some tears, I'm sure, yeah, just because what happens, but I think they'll be happy tears and fondness and remembering you're step to dead and oh ps, that's how I what I want to just if you want to know when I when I passed away, if you're if you're around, I want you to have a celebration of life. I don't want you to have a funeral for me. Okay, yeah, just can't repulsive. Okay, Yeah,

so I said it. I said it here, all these people heard it. Well, my plan is to just go out first. MM. It's easier than I think. I don't have the heartbreak and none of that. I don't know. You're pulling a notebook just at the same time. Yeah, maybe Jesus come back. At the same time, I like, don't take my wife and leave me. Leave her too. She can't go without men. We're gonna watch some crazy religious stuf. The This is not the podcast for that one, but oh my goodness, gracious it was on

Netflix or something. Yeah, it was on Netflix. It was just it was sick. Actually, I don't I can't wrap my head around how Colts

happened. I can't either. I want them people to get thinking. I'm like, there's gotta be somebody somewhere that went to like seven to eleven and somebody was like caught on to their insanity and was like, you do realize that that is totally not even close to being something that's real, and then have them go back from seven to eleven to their cold people and be like, you know, this guy at seven to eleven challenged me um, and

you know, brought up some pretty good points about how all this stuff we're being told might not be true. Maybe we should, maybe we should look into this little bit more. We should do some some dig in and deep dive on all these all these things that we're being told. You think, I mean, hundreds of people nobody nobody was like, Hey, this creepy can there's like one hundreds of thousands of them. You just want to walk up and big smash smash smash, yeah, because I just I don't understand

it. I don't get it. And here we are with a nonprofit and we're kind of running the situation where it's like we need funding, we need donations like big time, and these people are just giving them money to like these crazy people. And they're like, Oh, you're supposed to hit your wife that keeps her in lyne, and you're supposed to beat your kids. You know, fears, what rules, and just like anyway, this isn't

the podcast for that. But we'll go over that documentary to tell at some point and I'll have to remember the name of the documentary before I cancel Netflix because Netflix is useless. But they did have Extraction too. What's the guy who plays Thor? I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know what. That's a movie. It's a movie, baby, I know that I know is a movie. I don't know Extraction two. Never didn't know one of the first one. Okay, I think he watched it with

me. He starts off he's like drinking a beer and on some cliff with some guy and he just like takes his beard and takes the drink and then just walks off the cliff and then falls in the water and then like it's it's Indian style on the bottom of the lake. Oh yes, I do bring up bottom of water places because I'm not talking about that story the Titan thing. I guess they're dead. I don't. I don't And why don't I challenge everything COVID fake like everything summery guy, it's a Oaks. I

know you are very nuggative. I don't know. It's not healthy though, it's I came up on the street and like we just say like don't We were just saying like, don't believe everything, and now we're like leave things. We're giving mixed messages today this morning, there's one hundred dollars. I don't want your fake hundred dollar bill pretty donations. You don't need your fake donations. Go to to seventeen recovery dot com slash support though, if you

want to make a donation anyway. Extraction Movies, Yes, there's some good stuff on that flax, but the documentary it does it does make you. It does bring up some emotions, at least it did for me. But it's worth. It's worth. I mean, you'll realize like people, Yeah, humanities just dumb, questionable, sometimes insane. Donate now, or Jesus is coming for you? Or did Devil's coming for you? I mean, or both of them. You know, donate now, if not scare them.

I don't know if it was or not, but I think they're still listening. You get what I'm saying. Yeah, well, thank you. Because this is I had to be fifteen minutes long. You're probably thinking, Corey, you just looked over there to see what time, how long we've been going, and I guess fifteen minutes was the mark, and you're correct. All that did just happen. But fifteen minutes is the mark to set the world record. So I need three at least five fifteen minute podcast today.

This is from the home studio. We're going to do a North studio and then we're gonna do location on location in East Jordan. Today it's our Freedom Festival, and I think I want to make because Justin's going with me, Tyrone's going to show up out there, Mitch's going Adam's going you're not invited because you have too many things going on, Like I haven't even like

the whole time. I've like we're going to do this. That not one time where you like in my head being there because it's not that you don't want to say. There's a lot of stuff going on to it. Yeah, with you and I think I'm gonna make the guys do accents for like the first hour. Oh, I will make I'm excited to hear that. Well page that's all we got for today. At least it's just studio which what was that even its British or Australian mate, Yeah, because you were

kind of mixing up muddled a couple different. Well you see, maybe I listened to my deer hunting story again and go back to that accent. Well, I don't have to have an accent. They do, so it's on them. It don't last for like forty seconds. I listened to that podcast that I did with Chris and Ryan where we did accents for like the first ten minutes. I laugh my ass off. It was really funny I heard you talking about it was stupid. It was funny your times anyway, Thanks

for listening. We'll be back later. I don't know who my coal is to be later, but Martie, thank you for making an appearance. Appreciate it. It look lovely as always. You have a good day, right Abody, have a great day. Thanks for listening to the two seventeen Recovery podcast.
