This is to two seventeen Recovery Podcast with Corey Winfield. Well, fat people, we really hate it. I'm speaking for all fat people. We hate being hot. Show me one fat person that likes being hot, and I'm have some words of them, like why are you playing? You like being hot? Bro and co Holst Marnie Winfield the little things that I appreciate now in life. And this gas station is the gas station of all gas stations. And what makes it so special It's got like a coffee bar in there,

kind of g is the seventh of August twenty twenty three. My name's Corey, my name's Marnie Winfield. Welcome to seventeen Recovery Podcast Live from the Sea adle, Washington, America. Corey, Ben ye Camp and I we got called out here to do a little ministry work to the streets. We'd add a little bit, I think, did we maybe? Yeah? Yes? You know, God calls you different places, different reasons, and well we're here our honeymoon and we're having a good time. A lot of people,

why would you go to Seattle for your honeymoon? Well, we like to walk up hills fairly, yes we do. And Wifie over there in Morty. She loves walking up hills. I actually do, yeah, and so she loves it so much that she felt that we need to have a talking today. So she had a talking with me, and she said, look, if there was something that we could do, like m take a boat to an island, and on that island, the only thing is going to be a hut with air condition where you could just sit and lay and

then I could go out and just do with things. I don't know what you do, because there's nothing on the island but a hut with some air condition and your husband inside chilling, right. Unfortunately they don't have that here.

It looks worked for the island where that came from. Was just an observation that we're in the city with all these things to do, and you know, it's granted, some of it is I mean it's a city, right, so some of it's kind of difficult to get to walking wise, because there's hills and things and it's like you'd have to uber and all that kind of a pain in the butt. But I mean that's what we came here to do. And as we've been here for four days and we haven't

done anything, No I know. I was just saying that it seems like we should do more pretty much Saturday morning after midnight. I'll tell you what why. That's why. In that way, when I was a kid and taken on vacations, it was literally like go go go, go, go go go, Like we didn't go on occasion and like I had nothing planned for the day. It was just do things all day long. Wasn't that horrible? No? Okay, I mean it was exhausting. Yeah, it

was really that's what you do other people. Now, okay, you didn't

know any difference. There was a little bit of that in me still, yeah, but no, two weeks already, I just want to take advantages of the time we have here and so and I think it's getting a little bit of cabin fever and the hotel room because you were working on the grant and I had had a Zoom meeting in the morning, and then we were doing some adult thing stuff that has to do with paperwork for things that are going on at home, and so there was phone calls with that, and

it was just kind of felt like, I just this is all stuff that we would be doing it from our own apartment. We just happened to be in a very nice I need to be the adult in this relationship. I think sometimes I need to just go look, you know, because yeah, we were doing things that, no, we didn't really want to do on vacation, but we had to. And you still don't want to do those You're like, no, I want to. And I was like, just

we need to call this lady. I don't know if I said it like that, but like it's like, let's just keep doing it, let's keep you know, and and i'd be kind of a funny story. I'll tell it just for a second though. The lady. There's a lady that was supposed to get back to us and we gave her some information. She was supposed to get back to us with a number, and she didn't, and we're getting other numbers from other people. And I was like, you know what, So I emailed her today. I was like, hey, can

you go have a look at this. You know I'm still waiting on that. Oh yeah, yeah, I was actually getting to you next. No she did. She didn't even look at my emails. She missed it or whatever. And you were like, don't make her, don't just tell her not to worry about it, and I said, no, I'll make her work now, Like no intention of getting anything from this woman. I just made her work to put some numbers together. I didn't even tell her no thanks or that was high or nothing. I just was like, see how

she likes it. No, that's I would camplement each other. So well, I learned my lesson. I see yeah, yeah, No, but yesterday though, um yeah, I need to like recover a little bit from all that stuff I was doing that ministry where I was doing down the streets. No, and guys, you know what I'm talking about. Though. When I when I say when we started sweating on culturable places, I swear it makes her temperature go up like fifteen degrees like our internal body temperature.

Oh it's time to get up. Marnie's got She's like, oh, Corey should be sleeping by now. No, some Michigan to learn clock. What time is it here? Like eight eight fifteen? Yeah, so eleven fifteen people in Michigan probably sleepy in bed. I just texted Geremany. It was like a good job buddy, Like it was weird. I have to deal with work stuff and it's like three hours ahead and like, what do you guys leaving early for? And they're like, we're not. I'm like my

five o'clock because when you leave right now. But I think they're taking care of stuff as well as I can. And you know, I got to give a shout out to Tyrone too. He's actually going to meet with the sheriff tomorrow, Sherylevoy County. Nice. His name is Chuck. He's gonna be with Check to kind of explain to him what we do. And when Tyrone and I went to Harvard Hall a couple weeks ago, and that's a

treatment center and Potaski, Michigan very nice. It was. It was very beautiful, like nothing like I had expected it to be, and so that was kind of cool on Tyrone with me. And there was a woman there and she's like, oh, you know the shery, the boy sheriff. You know, they're the jail. They're they're always looking, you know, for somebody that you know, transport people to treatment from jail. I'm like, that's what needs to happen for a lot of these people, you know.

And she's like, talk to Chuck, and Tyrone got on the phone. Made it happen, like he is like our outreach coordinator man. Like he's out there hitting the streets. He's dropping off our pamphlets everywhere, you know, just kind of letting everybody know what we do. And you know, I gotta give Tyrone a big shout out. I didn't the other day when I was talking about people stepping up and we could go on vacation. And you know, it's not that I forgot about Tyrone's just because Tyrone has

always been doing that, not just when I'm gone, you know. And yeah, big big props to Tyrone. Man, he's really doing doing a solid for us and for himself, you know, he does it for himself. Yeah, And you know how many people will be helped because Tyrone meets for the sheriff tomorrow. Who knows, Man, it could be hundreds, you know, and the end of it and hundreds of thousands. We're gonna help the whole county and everybody in sheryla back county is getting arrested for drugs,

is going to treatment. Well, he's a big help though. We're there to take me. He really is. Um. But a few days ago, if you remember like that far back, you know, it's we've been here so long in your mind. But when we went on the ferris Wheel, I decided it was gonna have a little fun and I out my my big old phone and I started kind of singing along to the the music.

Yeah, they had some jams playing in the line where you wait to get on, And it might sound like I'm being quiet because like right now we have a little microphone, but then I did not have a microphone. I just had my phone up and I wasn't being quiet by any means. And the lady kind of behind you was looking at me a little bit funny, but yeah I was. And yeah, so anyway, here's a little behind the scenes trip to Seattle audio. Yeah, you front kind of syranny

before we get out, fair are the fare Sweet? Too much? PDA? And the line oh I'm the fair sweet? Everybody gave me a like I had wine, said said pa, Yeah, these people are looking at us all these sexy jams they're playing in line. I had a lot of problems on this ferris wheel, like people like being inappropriate. Will just say I doubt it. I doubt it. People don't surprise me anymore. Yeah, girl out. They probably had like some playlists, well they probably have

like a sex doctor therapist or something. And then they had like some smooth chads like DJ and then they come together and they're like which one It's like, this one's like like I want to start jumping around, Come on on, what else? Hey? I remember the song of thing? Yeah, smoky rama sent er something maybe, oh, I know to keep it PG and I cook kept going on forever there too, but I didn't and then

I actually I think I did, but I actually stopped recording it. But it was fun and I wanted to do that today when we went on our mission work, and you know what, let's talk about the uber people because the first uber we took, we took to AA. Yes, it costs us forty bucks forty five bucks because we did through a five yea to go to plus I tipped him I think twice. But anyway, yeah, so

it costs us like fifty bucks to go to AA. Yeah, and that driver was cool, the one that took us there, and on the way back, the driver didn't really say a whole hell of a lot, but he was all right, just no personality really like the first guy had and then wholely shit. The guy we took today the guy that took us today, Um, did you almost freak out? One of the almost ran that guy over on that Uh yeah, I was like, oh, the guy was like cousin item and stuff. I don't think he understood what he was

saying because I don't think it was English. Just I don't know if he knew that was a bad thing. He probably could get the kind of the cues. He's like, that's not how we're doing Somalia. It's like we have to cut a path through the field. You see that movie with Bruce Willis. I don't think that wasn't Somalia anyway. That Yeah, So that was kind of scary that we were almost haven't fill up police reports for eleven

dollars ride to the space needle. But luckily the dude on the bike or the scooter was wise and he could see that the car was about to hit him, so we stopped. And then after that I got even worse. We got another guy who I swear he ran a couple of red lights and he took the most ft up inconvenient way like everybody knows, well not everybody, because this guy didn't the quickest way from point A to point B is

a straight line. Yeah, this guy was going a B C, D E F G H j K element and like you were like, didn't we just eat there? Like yeah, after we'd been in the car for ten minutes. Yeah, he made this ridiculous We could have walked. It took us like two minute, two and a half minutes to walk to the drug store and then that's where we got picked up at and then like seven or eight minutes later in a car we're dragging. No, wasn't seven or eight, but it was like four or five. Yeah, in a car.

We were driving past where we had just in the tenner and when we booked him, he was like a minute away, Yeah, but then he went two minutes away and it was like he was like away and I look for you can see where the car is going. If you're not familiar with Uber, it's just like a map and you see a low card like DoD driving away from you and I'm like what the fuck, Like where's it going that way? And then looked like he was going to turn down the street and

come our way, but he didn't. He took another street like getting further away, and then he went like two more blocks further way. Then he took a right yeah, and then he goes down this road and then he turns into the other place, and like, okay, maybe he had another ride that he was dropping off first, and then he just sits there. It sits there for a while. About four minutes, everything comes back, passes the road and we're on to come back around to try to get us

from the other side, and then we had across the street. It was really screwy. It just that's why I'm really grateful that we live in a town where we have our own vehicles and we don't rely on other modes of transportation to get to A to B. It's just it's frustrating and expensive, like so expensive. I just want to get there, man. But the first guy we had was great, but since then it has been horrible. And then let's go, what's up with my ice cream? Every time we've

got an ice cream, you've had an episode with the situation. What's up with that? I don't Oh, man, it's weird. It's weird. It's like yesterday smashed his waffle cone, so they had depend instead of just like because if you were going to make some money a waffle cone, you had a big waffle cone, you put an ice cream and then you just just crunch it. You'd be like, all right, well, neither let me just throw this away, or let me try to get the ice cream

out of that to put it in a different one. Oh no, no, no, no, not jung home Kim. He is gonna go ahead and tape it up. Oh he didn't tape it up. He didn't take it up. What he did was he took the wrapper off of the first waffle cone so he could drop it into a second waffle cone, so it was just double waffle cone. No, he was. He was trying to

do something with it, like super glue or tape. I watched him and then then I started saying something like, oh my god, he's taping it, and he kind of looked over his shoulder and I was like, oh shit. Then that's when he started the one. Oh I'm just gonna put it in another waffle cone. Try that at home. It doesn't work very well because waffle cones, guess what, they're not the same size. So like you're gonna go lick the one, and it's like moving away from me

because you're pushing it. Because yeah, it's a horrible way to eat ice cream cone in the whole scheme of things. Though, these are not huge problems. These are some some white people problems right here, These some sober people problems. Yeah, shout out to Ben Harber, what's up? And then because these are problems people love to have there. But here we go today, go back. I get the eight Scooper or whatever it was. Yeah, it was like a Sunday fifteen scoop Sunday and it came with chocolate

sauce and the topping of my choice. But the stoner dude was working. He's like, man, whatever one you want, Man, you can do this or that or take that off with them on. I'm like, well, okay, there's only two toppings. It won't be too hard. How about we put some caramel on it, some hot fudge. I'm going for like a turtle Sunday, but clearly without the pecans because I have none of those. And he's like, all right, man, I go look for

the bathroom. I come back and he's just out chilling, like sitting where the customers sit. It's a little ice cream shop and that's weird. You know. They had like three stools kind of by the window, like if you were to walk in, you know, you'd walk in, take a left, and then you look to the left and there's a window facing the street and downtown Seattle, I guess. And then there's three like a little old school, very uncomfortable stools that you'd sit on that are like mounted to

the floor. And he's in the table next to that, just sitting there looking down. I'm like, did he work here? He just like whatever, dude, Like maybe he was just stepping up to like maybe he's on break, but he was helping out because they were I gotta rush. Maybe he was just the guy that drops off the weed and was like, hey, I'm jumping in here real quickly. He was seated up on you in a shirt all that. So, but yeah, you've had a couple,

you had a couple mishaps with your ice cream. But it wasn't even stone a guy's fault. It was gramp's fault because they forgot. They forgot as average. I was like, didn't you get hot phogo on that stout? See anything? What is going on? It's like another scorcher in Seattle today. It was like ninety two inside the ice cream shop for some reason I make an ice cream right whatever today, But inside the ice cream shop was what I said it was. It was not hot, and you're just you

just run a lot high, hotter than the average person. Back to what I was saying earlier, raises your body temagere fifteen degrees and you start getting hot down there, and so then yeah, grampster gets hit and so then my ice cream is like completely melted about time it gets back. Yeah, it's we had some bad experiences. Well you know what am I gonna do

so horrible? I don't know, dear lord. You know, I do want to say one thing about the fact that I kind of realized well not I mean I kind of comes up quite a bit and just in us being in town and on vacation and a new place and all that stuff. But I'm just like I'm on vacation and so much. I mean, my daily

life was drinking right like from morning till night. But I mean on vacations, it was like that's like what I did, but it was like celebrate, you know what I mean, Like and I ask so much going to the like bars or clubs anywhere, but I would like just drink by the pool or like drink on the beach all day long, you know, and so much of the things that are available out there now, like these wine tasting rooms and like all the other things are so surround you know, centered

on alcohol. But it's just like that's just not we don't. That's not what I do anymore. And it's not that I'm craving it. It's not that I'm wanting it. I'm just like super kind of aware and just grateful, you know, like that I'm not like I don't feel like I'm missing out at all. Like, man, that ship is sailed. I'm so I'm so over that shit. It's not even funny. Yeah, I didn't.

I don't know. I'm trink vacations. Like my vacations were like come home for Christmas, and of course I would drink my ass off and stuff like that. And we make excuses. Hey, we're playing cards. Hey we're doing this. We're doing you know, like that's just what we do. Make excuses, you know, Oh I'm playing softball. Oh I'm going here to you know, bowling, I'm doing this. We make excuses so that it sounds like, oh no, no, this is what we're really

doing. But really, what we're doing is making ways to drink to where it doesn't sound as bad. So yeah, I can see where you wouldn't miss any of that. I don't miss it. Um, I'm surprised, and I guess maybe it's because we're out of mission and doing mission work that

we're not really seeing a lot of people intoxicated. There's a couple of people at the Space Needle that kind of had the booze smell to him, But of course you can drink alcohol there, so yeah, yeah, but like for her to go to like Chicago or something, or um, Traverse City, I think you would see more drunk people than you do. I don't know, than we have. And maybe we're also out. We're also out at kind of not rusty. I mean, the day drinkers. Maybe they're

just getting buzz now, but we don't. We don't. We're not out and about late at night either. The weed though, had some some whiffs of that, but not as bad as Michigan. No, not even close, even close. It's kind of so. Tomorrow's the stadium. Yeah, we're gonna go to lumen Field Luman Stadium, I'm sure which one's called.

And we're gonna get like a tour of locker rooms and all that locker rooms, but like the press box or something, or the press place where they talk after the game, like, oh, I probably shouldn't have Probably should have thrown that all that what they didn't do it there because there super Bowl isn't there. Um, probably should have thrown that ball to one. I lost the super Bowl where they talk of the after the game. Okay, post game, I'm excited wis conference. Yeah, it'll be pretty cool,

I think, um if I can walk. Oh yeah, like an hour and a half walking session. Sorry, we can do it. Yeah, sleep were really enough? Yeah? I just wish I had some rubbed my back for me. Yeah, you don't think I don't don't rubber back. I do. Oh it was sleeping. You never has even asked me, hey, um, not that we're keeping points or score or nothing, but who other back? Rup other day? You rubbed my back because my back? Did you ask me? No? Okay? Yeah? Are you in

that one? Yes? Yes? Yes? No? I love you though you too. Oh yeah, get up, come on, Mark, we've been here for sixteen days. You haven't done ship. Come on. Then she grabbed me and like rips me out of the bed sone me in the head. Oh my god, She's like too bad. Wws not coming here, so drumping elbows on me. You're name Cory exaggeration, Winfield that your name? Hit me with a you got out the ironing boards or smacking me around with it. Get your fatast down there, Give me a bagel.

They come back and you're like, no, cream tree, where do you come up from out the door? All eyes? It was crazy. It's crazy stuff I go through and see. I mean, you're like, people believe this nothing, don't you thinking like people believe everything I say? Let us know if they don't. Now, if they don't, haven't learned by now, and then I feel sorry for them. Full of it. It's just a good time. Eighty percent of the stuff he says it is either

totally exaggerated or not true at all. That's just craziness on this podcast. Alot of that carries over, depending on his mood, into daily I mean, if I'm talking about recovery, I get serious. I guess, but I don't know. It's just fun, just this. I don't think you can sue me for slander. Husband. No, what did you say to the cab driver when there was a fire at the wedding. Oh yeah, because we're that was Is that when we're going to a meeting? Yeah?

Yeah, um yeah, we're trying to leave, Like, we get down there and he goes to pull out, all this fire truck pulls in. We're like, are you kidding me? Man? And there's like really one way out of this hotel it we're at. And we're just sitting there looking at the fire truck and all these firemen jumping out and they're going from one building to the next like they don't really know where they're going. There's no fire. And the guy was like, the fire truck is here, you

know, And I was like, did I say? Yeah, Well, there was a wedding. There had been a wedding in the building across from the hotel, and all the whole wedding party was outside because they had to evacuate. And so there's all these people dressed up on around this fire truck, and so they're talking to each other. They're all talking to each other kind of making light of the situation, I guess, because what else can you do. And then some lady said, you know, it's good luck

to have a fire alarm. On your wedding day. And then what did you say? Yeah, I sit down. It's bad, like he's in chinning or something. Yeah, that's what he said something like that. But no, yeah, well, I mean I need to warn them. But now at first though any talking about when I told the guy, because he's like, what's going on? Is there a fire or I was like, nah, man, I was just vaporing in the room. Let's get out of here or something like that. It kind of looked at me like it

was real true, and then we couldn't move. Yeah, And then now it was a guy that was like, oh, don't worry man, um, it's it's good luck to have the fire alarm on your wedding. And I was like, no, it's not, buddy. I mean she didn't cheat any Yeah, I mean that's God's way of saying, look like this is not gonna work, man, like better be careful. Yeah. Anyway, always always excitement. She looked trifling a little bit. She was.

It was crazy because like, I don't know, they're not I don't think from America, and so like they came here and they maybe maybe they're like famous people, maybe like South Korea or something, and they came here for their wedding because they had like sixteen people taking pictures of them, and yeah, paparazzi style, Yeah it was. And so maybe it was one of their crazy fans that came with them and pulled the fire alarm. Maybe, I don't know. I don't know. It seemed weird, like if Rangelina

was that what they called them, Red Pit and Angelina. Oh yeah, if they got married somewhere else, and like every day people will just be walking by, Yeah we are those people. Were those people taking petures of them? Yeah, we're just over here chilling, making jokes. But it's been a fun trip so far though, it really has been. And five dollars donuts. Yeah, it didn't taste like a five dollar donut, did it. No, it's just like garbage. No, it wasn't good.

No ah, man, I'm sorry, and I ate it though. I want you to feel bad. If it was, he should have just been like, it's not good, just throw it in the trash. Waste of money through garbage flushed down the toilet. Powerful toilets here could have done that. But no, it was no West Coat donut, that's for sure. Oh yeah, and it was Apple fritter too, but it just wasn't I don't know. It's like they I didn't oil that hadn't changed in a couple of years. That's what it tastes. I get it. Oh yeah,

and I try to eat some seafood. Oh yeah, crab cakes. Yeah, that didn't work out very well. You spit it out immediately. And people have told me, oh, crab doesn't taste like fish. I got a question for those people. What have they been put on their mouth? Because clearly they have no taste buds left because crab tastes like fish. Yeah, it's seafood, I think. And maybe it's not a fish. I don't like. Maybe it's just the ocean. The water could be poop looted

stuff. I'm just saying what you want to say something, No, there's more fluids. I can mention the name, but I'm like, no, it's good. I think they get the point. It's like all the sweaty men. But it's been a really good vacation, this vacation and had a really good had a really good time. And um we'll give you another recap on the day's events in the next couple of days. So thank you guys.

For listening. We'll wrap it up and yeah, so yeah, we had a big day plan tomorrow and it's super surprised tomorrow even I guess it's not surprise for us, but it will be fore Yeah, there you go.
