On The Record

This episode of the podcast dives into the hip-hop industry in the wake of the Me Too movement, with HBO's new doc On The Record. The documentary tackles the accusations of sexual assault and misconduct brought forward against record exec and mogul Russell Simmons and highlights former Def Jam A&R executive Drew Dixon, who spoke out against Simmons following the movement, and covers everything from sexism in the industry to problematic lyrics to the issues Black women face both within the Black community and outside of it.
