Episode description

“I would not know how I am supposed to feel about many stories if not for the fact that the TV news personalities make sad faces for sad stories and happy faces for happy stories. ”
Dave Barry

Consider that in the history of media, the LGBT community has been stereotyped and portrayed in ways that deem us abnormal, "fixable", abominations or adulterous. An evolution can however be traced through television and music with the nature of shows transition from this narrative and into more positive representation of the community and its sub-communities.

Jax and Toxic Suspension discuss the influence of media in their lives and the impact it has had or could have on the queer community or its allies.

DISCLAIMER- The Digression is Real! (As with any conversation). Not only did we leave out many shows (like Drag Race and the influence it has amassed)from the conversation but we also forgot to delve in many other forms of media. This discussion deals with movies, television and a little music. We appreciate all LGBT content creation and look forward to being exposed to it.
