For the second cocktail of Season 4, Melody and Bugbee try a "boozier Tom Collins" with the French 75. Producer Andrew learns just how much alcohol can be consumed on a podcast. Love 'em or hate 'em - The French can make a wonderful cocktail. But is the French 75 actually from France? Melody and Bugbee try their best to share this classic cocktails journey.

French 75 Recipe

1 ounce gin

1/2 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed

1/2 ounce simple syrup

3 ounces Champagne (or other sparkling wine)

Garnish: lemon twist

Preparation:

Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.

Strain into a Champagne flute.

Top with the Champagne.

Garnish with a lemon twist.
