The Gospel Of Sam 2: Chapter 20 - Reconciliation

Cain and Gabriel approach the temple, where they meet Wei Jin and Michael. Cain mocks Wei Jin and demands answers, revealing his infected eye, a result of "The Rot," a disease engineered by Lucifer, which is decimating humanity and adding six hundred million souls to Lucifer’s power. Cain seeks healing from Michael, who has the gift of healing, as a result of their shared ascension. Michael, though filled with contempt for Cain, reluctantly agrees to heal him and Gabriel after Gabriel explains that Lucifer’s disease threatens all life.

Despite his animosity toward Cain, Michael is convinced by Gabriel and Wei Jin to help. He uses his immense power to heal Gabriel first, then reluctantly heals Cain. Cain reveals that everyone in the village, including Wei Jin, is infected. He orders Wei Jin to be healed and to meet him in the chamber where Sam's head is kept, indicating they have important matters to discuss. As they head into the temple, tension and urgency hang in the air, with Lucifer's growing power looming as a global threat.
