Economic Development and Politics in India w/ Prof. Bhavnani

In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were grateful for the opportunity to welcome Rikhil Bhavnani,Professor with the Department of Political Science here at UW-Madison, where he also serves as Director of Graduate Studies. He is also Faculty Affiliate at the La Follette School of Public Affairs, the Elections Research Center, and the Center for South Asia. Professor Bhvanani’s research focuses on the political economy of development and migration, and on inequalities in political representation, mainly in South Asia. We asked Professor Bhavnani about his teaching and research interests. Much of our discussion focused on economic development and politics in India. We learned so much and enjoyed our conversation.
