Episode description

Twenty-some years ago, Bronx resident Lynne Corry was homeless, addicted to drugs and alcohol, pregnant and living in a park. After fighting addiction and homelessness she is paying it forward by giving back to the agency that helped her survive.

She credits her dramatic turn-around and success to Samaritan Daytop Village’s: young mothers program, an intensive residential substance use disorder treatment program for pregnant women and mothers where she lived with her son while working on her recovery.

Even though she has long since graduated from the young mother’s program, Lynne continues to grow the annual gift program. she now receives donations from communities, schools, private citizens and foundations all over the tri-state area.
