Episode description

Your brain has a native language system—a natural, native way of thinking about who we are and what we’re capable of. We have used this language to create our identity and tell us who we are—and that informs what we do.

That means that in order to change your life, you have to change this native language system. We have to learn to speak to ourselves in a new way, with new words, and new sentences, and practice this new language enough to embed it into your life.

Choosing new thoughts is learning a new language. It won’t come automatically. Like any other language acquisition, changing your brain’s native language takes consistency and effort.

In today’s podcast I’m sharing how to use the tools of language acquisition to help you change the native language of your brain and how to be patient and love yourself while you get fluent.
