Today, the Church offers us the memorial of the Queenship of Mary. It is a joy to recall that from our Baptism we are made members of the Holy Family: Joseph the Patriarch-Foster Father of the Lord, Jesus our King, and Mary our Queen. In the rule of the Davidic Kings, the queenship was not given to the wife (or wives), but rather to the Queen-Mother. In our case we find ourselves in joy over celebrating this fact today, and we want to realize and act upon this relationship in praise, piety, and petition of her who will present us and our needs to our loving King, Jesus.
