Years ago, I would hear the phrase “it is what it is,” and I would think it meant the person saying it was losing hope and giving up. But now I understand that the phrase is about acceptance, which can lead us to new beginnings—ones filled with new relationships, new opportunities, and new beautiful moments to experience. Acceptance is the springboard for hope and can lead to what is possibly the greatest peace we can feel in our hearts.
