Despair Is For Cowards

If we watch the news, read our Twitter feed, or even look around us, we might start to feel despair for the future. But we must remember that despair is often a “need for certainty.” It is often a mechanism for us to prepare for the worst— a way to deal with what we can’t know. Yet, nobody knows the future, and despair closes our eyes to what may still be possible.
