Vancouver, a city reeling amid a housing crisis and being on the front lines of the opioid epidemic, has a new mayor.
Former NDP MP Kennedy Stewart was elected last weekend as Vancouver's first independent mayor in 30 years. During the campaign he took strong positions on housing, and he has been a staunch opponent of the Trans Mountain pipeline.
