The Ten Commandments: Week 1

Over the coming 8 weeks we will look at the Ten Commandments.  The Ten Commandments have become powerful symbols in current American culture wars.  Because of this, they have become loaded with meaning they don't necessarily hold and they have been used as a cudgel to attack those who seem to be deviating from their teaching.  Over this series we will try to reclaim these vital biblical teachings and let them speak to us without inducing shame, guilt or anger.  This week, we consider commandments 1 and 2; having only 1 God and worshipping no idols.  Those both sound easy, right?  Yet if we really think about it, we will find that these commandments still challenge us today.  In particular, we are every bit as good at worshiping idols as any of our forebears, they just look different.  Join Phil Blackburn and Ken Pevehouse as they talk about their faith, their lives, and these two important commandments.
