Metacast Web-2025.07.05: Share Metacast links with users of any podcast app

Released on

New web app features

  • Chapters in transcripts. You can now see chapters in transcripts on the web when they're available. Chapters make it easy to navigate the content and link to specific sections of an episode.
  • Links to Overcast, Pocket Casts and Episodes.fm. You can now share Metacast links with users of any podcast app. If they use Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Overcast or Pocket Casts, there are direct links to those apps. If they use any other app, they can tap the Episodes.fm link that has links to most popular podcast apps. There is also a link to the RSS feed for users who want to subscribe directly.
  • Direct links to audio files. You can now download an episode's audio file (usually in the mp3 format) directly from episode pages. In case you want to listen to it in your audio player of choice or use some of the content from another podcast, it's now easy—simply download the file. Just keep in mind that the content may be copyrighted, so reuse with caution.
  • Podcast hosting information. You can now see where podcast feeds are hosted. At the bottom of podcast pages, we've added links to popular hosts (detected by the feed URL listed in the Apple Podcast catalog). At this time, we only show the information for Transistor, Buzzsprout, Libsyn, Omny Studio, Megaphone, and Spotify for Creators (f.k.a. Anchor). If you want your podcast host to be added, please send us an email at [email protected].
  • Better download links. Now when you tap the Download button on an iOS or Android device, it'll take you directly to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download Metacast.
