In the Pacific Ocean, halfway between Peru and New Zealand, lies a tiny volcanic island. It's a little-known British territory. The community here was born after the famous 18th-century naval mutiny on the bounty. But to this day, the island is accessible only by a terrifying longboat journey. It's home to a population of around 50, and it harbored a Dark scandal. I don't think there was a family that wasn't involved in it in some way. Everyone was a suspect, that's right.

I'm journalist Luke Jones and for almost two years I've been investigating a shocking story which stretches from rural England to the remote Pacific island of Pitcairn. I can't stop loving the place even though what happened to me is my home. That's where In the Pitcairn trials I'll be uncovering a story of abuse where prosecutors

scars on generations of women and girls and brought a unique, lonely, Pacific Island to the brink of extinction. When there's nobody watching, nobody going to report it, people will get away with what they can get away with. Everyone was a suspect. Every mile, really.
