Former Brainerd Dispatch publisher Terry McCollough collected his first paycheck at the newspaper in 1959, so he was in the newsroom for some of the historical events he now shares in his daily history column, "This Was Brainerd."
McCollough has an encyclopedic knowledge of many important moments in Brainerd's history, along with the bizarre and amusing tales of some of the city's most interesting characters. In celebration of Brainerd History Week, we sit down with McCollough for a little history lesson.
